Couldn’t be more accurate!
Anyone else here from Pittsburgh?
I’m from the squirrel hill area and I’m honestly having a lot of trouble coping with what happened yesterday. I’ve been talking to my friends about it and I went to the vigil last night but I still feel alone, sad, and so disappointed in our government and the world. I always felt upset after a shooting but now that it’s hit so close to home, I feel like this beautiful diverse and accepting community that I’ve grown up in is just falling apart and I don’t know how to cope. I’m so angry that we could allow something like this to happen and I can’t believe there are still people in this world who think that way. I just have a lot of emotions right now so is there anyone else from the Pittsburgh area or anyone who was really affected by this that wants to talk about it?

Ok so idk how, but this post from the true crime community popped up in my feed one day and I can’t find the post because the user blocked me for calling her out on it but it basically said:
“we should feel bad for school shooters because they probably have mental issues and just need some help”
That is just fucked up. The people shooting up schools don’t feel bad about doing it! They probably would’ve done it again if given the opportunity. If a mental illness goes to the extent that they can’t feeel remorse for their actions, I can’t feel remorse for them. They need to get help and if they can’t do that and end up taking innocent lives instead, that’s unforgivable and I don’t care what you tell me. I can never find a place in my heart for those who have none.
I live really close to parkland, I know a lot of people who feared for their lives that day and lost friends and family. I know a lot of bright futures that were torn to shreds. I know a lot of people (including myself) who are scared to go to school because we never expected a school shooting to happen this close to our school. We have police officers standing in front of our school now. I could never sympathize with the people who have triggered this fear in so many students who just want to learn but are instead fearing for their lives.
I know not all people in the true crime community are like this, I know most of you are just really interested in crime cases and honestly I am too. But some people take it too far and what I saw a few days ago was way to far. If you want to start a conversation about this, I won’t block you. I’d like to hear other opinions I just can’t promise you mine will change.
I MADE A YOUTUBE CHANNEL!! I post a lot of videos like these and it would mean a lot if you checked some of those out. They’re all hamilton related although I’m thinking of posting some videos for other musicals too.

Does anyone have an audio of Dave Malloy singing Dust and Ashes?
I’m making this video comparing all 3 Pierres singing Dust and Ashes and I have an audio for Oak and Josh but I can’t find one of Dave. I know he did a few performances as Pierre in The Great Comet (you know, after they added Dust and Ashes) so I was wondering if anyone had an audio for that.
Everyone who reblogs this will get a picture of Phillipa Soo in their inbox

THIS IS SO AMAZING
The stage door is a privilege.
When I was in NYC last month I had the amazing opportunity to see Ben Platt in Dear Evan Hansen. I knew it would be a good show, I knew his performance would be incredible. And it was an absolutely stunning experience to watch him bare his entire soul on stage. I left in a daze, thinking about how emotionally draining doing that EIGHT times a week must be. It was a matinee on a two show and not a single member of the cast came out the stage door. I didn’t blame them at all—it was the fourth show in a five show weekend.
I was lucky enough to catch him after the show that night. I could tell he was exhausted, visibly run down, and he was also on vocal rest so he couldn’t even speak. But he still made his way through the crowd of people, signing programs, offering shy smiles.
I got there early enough to be at the very front and let me just say… the fans were out of control. There was pushing and yelling and screaming and I felt a little overwhelmed by the attention of it all, especially when Ben came out the stage door. Everyone was pushing on the metal grate so hard that it was dragging forward. Of course everyone was excited that he came out, but I just made sure to just thank him over and over again for coming out to say hello, something he definitely did not have to do, especially when he has to take care of himself. That should be his priority.
Then today, this is what he tweeted.
Which was a very kind and patient response to something that’s become a huge issue in the theater community, and that’s the sense of entitlement from fans for an actor’s time after the show.
This may have been the tweet in question, I’m not sure. Either way, this is the entitled attitude that’s going to ruin the stage door for everyone if people can’t get their act together. Don’t mob actors at the stage door. The stage door is an incredibly unique experience, it’s a chance to connect with artists who give 110% every night. What they do is rewarding yes, but it’s also exhausting! Eight shows a week, you guys, that’s not easy.
It breaks my heart that people have been giving Ben crap about not coming to the stage door. To be honest, after my experience at the DEH stage door, I wouldn’t blame him if he NEVER came out after the show. It really has turned into a madhouse, especially with the popularity and fandom of the show. So please, please, PLEASE remember to respect the actors! And I’ll repeat it again.
The stage door is a PRIVILEGE, not a right, and it’s a privilege that’s going to be taken away if we in the theater community don’t hold people responsible for respecting that, and respecting the actors who share their time and their talent with us.

random question, but do u know how tall phillipa soo is?
idk how tall exactly but she’s pretty short
I really want to say 5'5"-6"
She's 5'8 according to a couple websites I found but idk if that's true. I think she's a little shorter than that.
nothing gives me the chills like a good old fashioned Broadway style key change
and don’t even get me started on multi-level harmonies
