To.me the most annoying part about yesterday was you guys spending so much time on little issues that you didn’t even see or maybe ignored the really horrible things others were saying. The comments about her not working with “real Britain’s” or saying she was working with a terrorist mosque. Those are the horrible things we should spend energy shooting down, not 2 min car rides.
I can’t comment on things that I don’t see. I chose not to follow the kinds of people that would post those things because those things are incredibly upsetting to me. I didn’t comment on those things because I genuinely never saw them. I don’t follow the whole fandom. I can’t police the entire fandom. That’s not my job and it’s not my responsibility.
Moreover, the car ride did matter. It wasn’t a little issue. But we weren’t the ones dragging it out. We mentioned it, said it was an issue to learn from, and moved on. Anons dragged it out and made it a big deal. We were explaining our point of view (because many people were confused and asked for clarification) while still posting about the awesome women of Hubb and the event.
Exactly!
I gave my opinion and everybody made something huge from that. I answered like 40 DMs saying the exact same thing, that it was a bad move and I explained them why, and a lot of them understood my point of view and thanked me for explaining them the situation. Others got butthurt and were rude af, I was called names, they tried to make me feel bad (Keep trying) and even told me to delete the story where I gave my opinion (As if) and apologize (Wtf?). So I made a post about it explaining why I gave my opinion and such, which maybe was my mistake, but whatever.
Very late at night I received a DM of some stranger calling me an hypocrite (among other things), to what I answered "If you want to stay in this fandom without losing your mind you have to understand that not everybody will always agree with the things the royals do, not even their fans." She saw it but didn't answer.
