obsessed with how ryoko kui sometimes draws falin wearing these shirts with the images of her skeleton chilling in the dragon's stomach. it's so fucking real. if i'd been eaten by a dragon i would 100% wear shirts like this too

i think this is so funny to me for 2 reasons

1) it implies that falin actively like. reclaims and makes a joke/point of identity out of dying and being digested. which is pretty metal and hilarious of her to take something that objectively traumatic and make light of it. i love that the small glimpses we see into falin's character really show that despite her sweet personality there is still a darker more mischievous side to her......... or at least that's what i like to think. i can definitely imagine her having a dark sense of humour which shocks others who assume she's sweet and innocent lol

2) i love how the skeleton is just chilling in the impatient pose with the clock in the background. ik she wasn't conscious or anything (afaik) when she was eaten but it's so funny to imagine her as a skeleton just tapping her foot checking her watch like "uhh hello guys?? can you hurry up???" lmao. the others are going on an epic quest to rescue her and she's just bored as hell in there

Is it weird to say that chimera Falin just makes me feel bad.

And like. I’m glad the sapphics are having a good time with her. If you think chimera Falin is hot, good for you! I’m not a cop, go do what you gotta do.

But it feels like it’s refusing to acknowledge the horror. The tragedy. The way that a woman’s body — a woman who we love — was twisted against her wishes to suit someone else’s desires. Because it was more convenient to them that Falin was this rather than what she was.

I can’t get on board with the “Zoo wee mama chimera Falin is hot” train because it just makes me feel sad and gross because a sad and gross thing was done to her.

You are right and you should say it.

I think people's "Zoo wee mama" reactions actually kind of play into the themes of the show. Especially the themes of how the Dungeon itself is kind of a low-consequence zone. In the very episode released today, as the various people are returning to the surface, its mentioned that then should speak up if they're fatally injured, as resurrection magic doesn't work on the surface. If they have internal bleeding or an embolism or an infection, if they're killed 1 second outside of the Dungeon they're dead forever.

I don't think its ever addressed in the manga, but I would assume people with life threatening injuries on the island may be rushed to the Dungeon to die. It may be an easier process to store a body then care for someone injured. Kabru and his party wiped three times getting to this floor and don't at all make a fuss. When the party encountered the adventurer poisoned by the cocktrice, no one made a big fuss about them taking so long to prepare the antidote because resurrection was available.

There are creatures in the Dungeon, more so later but some even now, that take advantage of adventurers. Transform them, torment them, turn them against their allies. Its seen as status quo, so why should the Mage controlling them act any different. Both the people who aren't in Kabru's party and the narrative seem to frame him executing the thieves that hit his party with illusion magic intent on having them kill each other as an extreme reaction.

All this to say, the dungeon is a place of little consequence to an individual's condition. When in the Dungeon, you don't matter, because you can be healed, or cured, or snapped out of it, or resurrected. That's why the dungeon is an evil place. An adventurer trap meant to lure in the greedy and the curious and the foolish, and use them up over and over. What would be a horror on the surface in the Dungeon is mundane.

if someone outside the dungeon "twisted [Faelin] against her wishes to suit someone else’s desires" it would be a horror. It would so enrage and despair the party that we'd get a very different story. But within the liminel, almost video game-like space of the dungeon, it is treated as a much lesser transgression.

Skeletor has forever destroyed our ability to come up with voices for skeleton characters.

this is like saying NASA has forever destroyed our ability to wonder what it's like on the moon. like we can still use our powers of imagination if we want to but the question's pretty much fucking settled.

A lot of the time when I see people talk about aromanticism they bring up the way a lot of us tend to think that romance is just exaggerated in fiction and are surprised that people feel that way in real life and not just in the movies and that's honestly kind of funny, imagine just going about your life and one day finding out that most people's high school years were actually like disney channel and you're the exception

Imagine finding out that musicals are 100% realistic, people do in fact start singing and dancing out of nowhere every single day and you just happen to be one of the few people who are never in that situation
