Above everything, Dani Manhattan is self-aware. You kind of have to be, when you're the daughter of two media giants who is working her way up to being a pretty successful social media influencer. You also kind of have to be, when you're a huge bitch whose incapable of even bothering to hide it. Cate's words, not Dani's. But Cate isn't wrong—most people aren't. Dani figured a long time ago that she would be better off making 'brutal honesty' her brand. It helps that she's objectively beautiful and one of the strongest supes currently attending Godolkin University. People piss their pants at just the idea of having to confront her. Sure, she isn't exactly surrounded by good friends, but who cares? She's hot, smart, has four million followers on Instagram, and fucking Golden Boy on the DL. She's on top op the goddamn world, who cares about a couple friends? Dani doesn't. Truly. But she might care about Luke, even if just a little. So when Luke kills himself seemingly out of nowhere, she decides to do something about it. It's not like she can trust his friends to be capable enough of solving this by themselves, anyway.
