Happy MLK day, y’all!

Last Monday was my first day of spring semester, which I also had off, because it got cancelled due to icy weather (best first day of school ever!). Two Mondays off in a row is gonna have me spoiled come next week... 

I’m both terrified and pumped for this new semester — the last one straight up kicked my ass to Pluto, but I ended up getting all A’s, so now I am feeling pretty accomplished.

My hope is that I’ll have more time for writing fanfiction now. Last semester kinda sucked me dry of any motivation to write anything, but my new classes don’t seem like they will be as essay-heavy. CROSSING MY FINGERS ANYWAY HJAFUIOPOAS;FK

In any case, writing (even fanfiction) takes time... A lot of time (for me, at least). And very unfortunately, what ends up happening alongside the loss of motivation is intimidation to even try when I do have time, because time management + keeping schedules is a challenge in of itself for me, and I am often mentally exhausted after school/homework. So my free time usually ends up going to my yoga practice before anything else. :’)

It’s been driving me crazy that I've barely written anything since the summer, tho... I still have so many plans for HTDWR (don’t worry, I haven’t given up yet!!) and I’ve been playing around with some original ideas as well. 

One thing in particular I want to practice more is writing very short things, because I don’t do this nearly enough. Which brings me to my next point...

I decided to start a new twitter account specifically for this practice! Fitting a fictional moment into 280 characters while also providing enough information for the reader to know/figure out what’s going on is actually a pretty fun challenge. It also doesn’t consume nearly as much time, so I get to enjoy worry-free creative expression even when I have a busy schedule.

i walked out of my apartment this morning and a five year old kid was playing outside and immediately he pointed at my aparment and was like “some chinese people used to live there. now someone else does”

and i was like… you mean that one? and pointed at my apartment, the one i literally just walked out of

and he was like “yeah”

the other day I was coming back from work and as I’m walking up to my apartment, he runs up to me with two fistfuls of grass and yells DON’T STEP ON THIS GRASS IT’S FOR THE BUNNIES and drops it in the middle of the sidewalk and i’m just like okay!! :D

today I was walking to my door and he ran up to me and yelled DID YOU KNOW SOMEONE IS COMING and i was like WHOA NO WHO’S COMING

and he tells the girl beside him YOU TELL HIM so she tells me “there’s a guide coming! and he’s invisible!” and ofc i’m like WHOA THAT’S SO COOL and the boy tells me that he’s arriving by helicopter. and the helicopter is also invisible and you can’t hear it either! so I ask why he’s coming and they tell me it’s because it’s his birthday and he’ll be here at exactly 6:00

they’re gonna ring my doorbell at 6 so I can tell the invisible man in the invisible helicopter happy birthday before he flies away

okay so TODAY i came home from work and he came up to me and was like “i rang your doorbell earlier” and so I told him I wasn’t home and asked what he needed me for and he was like

“i had a question”

so I was like alright what was your question

and he goes “do you have a kitchen?” and I was like… uhh yeah I’ve got a kitchen

and he was like okay and walked away

Lesbians who say they’ll never date a girl that has touched a man. People that say bi girls will cheat because they’re bi. There’s so much biphobia not only with straight people, but in the gay community

my lesbian friends who told me they were “high-key disappointed” when i started dating a cishet boy. my ex girlfriend who asked me “wait weren’t you gay” and then when i explained i was bi went “um. ew lol”. the whole “gold star lesbian” bullshit. can we face the biphobia in the lgbt community instead of shoving it under the rug lol

i started writing original fiction because of a comment i got on a house md fic i wrote when i was 12 years old. someone said “this is out of character, house and wilson would never act like this.” so i thought, “if i make my own characters, no one can ever tell me they’re out of character, because i decide,” and i started planning my first novel. now i’m 23 and i’ve written 4 novel-length works, i have a degree in publishing and i work at a literary magazine, largely because someone insulted my house fanfiction. follow your dreams.

my weather & climate prof: chick-fil-a is a horrible company. they put homophobia in all of their food.

also my weather & climate prof: molecules in the thermosphere generate heat by vibrating violently. like...idk what you guys call it these days, but we called it moshing when i was growing up. idk... angry white people dancing.

and again: you can't put house spiders outside!! they've evolved to live indoors, they will die in the cold. just shoo them under the sofa. 

i’m honestly convinced that my weather & climate professor is the best human being on this earth.
