Soaps & the Stuff of Legend

Somewhat multi-fandom, but mainly Doctor Who as I post more about primetime than daytime. I believe people should be passionate about what they love. This handle matches my other social media accounts.

Cold Case

Rating: Teen Pairing: Nine x Rose AU Summary: The Bad Wolf has eluded him for years, defying the law while working as an underground vigilante in favor of defending the human rights of those with little to no voice in the world. Tags: Detective Noir, Bad Wolf | Rose Tyler Words: 1,675 Find it: AO3  Notes: This is for @countessselena on the occasion of her birth!! A few weeks ago, she sent me the “cold case” prompt and my muse finally cooperated with me today. (Of course, I was at work and really couldn’t write, but meeehhhhh…) I hope you have the best day today. On your real birthday. Hahahaha. (I’m still laughing, btw…)
I’ve never read much “Detective Noir,” so please forgive me if I absolutely did not capture the mood. I tried, though. Haha. It’s more of a modern AU, however, so consider that while reading. ;)
Thanks to @fleurdeneuf for the last minute beta and read-through!! I greatly appreciate it!!

The Doctor stalks briskly down a darkened alley, grasping onto a thin thread of hope that this contact will give him a lead to solve what is probably the most frustrating case of his career as a private investigator.

The Bad Wolf.

It’s the only clearly defined evidence he’s had until an hour ago, when he’d received an anonymous note slipped under his door with specific instructions to arrive at an abandoned police box located several blocks from his office. 11PM. Come alone. Instead of describing the police box and listing a street address, the note had included a complicated code to explain the meeting location, one he’d not seen since his days as a RAF Secret Intelligence Officer. He’d cracked it easily – genius, him – but the cryptic note had definitely piqued his interest.

As he walks, he considers the unsolved mystery. The Bad Wolf has eluded him for years, defying the law while working as an underground vigilante in favor of defending the human rights of those with little to no voice in the world.

By law, it’s his duty as an investigator to apprehend the Bad Wolf, but the culprit is good. Very good. And superior at covering his – or her – steps. He admits a grudging respect and admiration for the London-based vigilante’s persistence and track record throughout the years. Despite the blatant disregard for rules, there’s a part of him inclined to ignore the Bad Wolf, to let this individual work for the power of good in the darker corners of London town.

The Doctor has been meticulous in his investigation, covering his own tracks along the way as well, but his search has continuously left him empty handed, much to his client’s ever-growing frustration. Every lead has vanished like a tendril of smoke, often almost just within his grasp, only to disappear without a trace. It’s as though the very person he seeks anticipates his every move.

A cold case, impossible to crack.

Anonymous asked:

ten/rose, they've been best friends since childhood but their mutual friends know they've been in love since childhood so they decide to send them a rose/card/??? and say it's from the other one. (Sorry if this doesn't make any sense)

“They’re going to kill us when they figure it out,” Martha said, still browsing through the cards.

“They’ll be too busy finally snogging each other’s faces off to realize that they were set up,” Donna shot back confidently. “By the time they figure it out they’ll be too happy to be angry with us.”

“They’ve been dancing around the obvious fact that they’re in love for fifteen year,” she commented dryly, handing a card to the redhead for inspection.

“That’s because they’re idiots. And yes to this card, it’s perfect.”

Martha and Donna, best friends of John and Rose, bought the two Valentine’s Day cards they’d selected and headed back to Martha’s flat. Martha carefully forged both John and Rose’s signatures then addressed the cards.

“Here goes nothing,” Donna said with a grin as she dropped the cards into a mailbox.

-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-

Two Days Later

John wandered into Rose’s flat, flipping the mail he’d picked up for her as he called out to her that he was there. He paused when he came to a card that looked like it was addressed in his hand writing.

“Rose, why is there a card from me in your mail?”

Rose stuck her head out of her bedroom, towel on her head. “I don’t know. I’d assume it was because you sent me something.”

“But I didn’t!” he said, bewildered. He dropped the rest of the mail and had the envelope close to his face.

By the Light of the Bridge, Epilogue

Rating: All ages Pairing: Ten x Rose Summary: When Rose convinces Pete to give her the dimension hopper when they land safely in his universe, she never in a million years expects the path that is placed before her. Tags: Taking a bath together fluff Words: 610 (Part 4) Find it: AO3Part 1Part 2Part 3 • Part 4 Notes: And here’s the promised epilogue!! Thank you so much for reading this little story of mine. It was so great to actually create something of some length again. I hope you all enjoy this last chapter and that it helps to erase the terrible memories of Doomsday!! @doctorroseprompts
Thanks one last time to @hellostarlight20 for the beta.
OH!! And in case you missed it, @promisedyouforever made this awesome ART to go with the story, and I’m still so pleased and happy. Thank you!! Go check it out and see how great it is.

The Doctor sighs contently as he holds Rose’s wet, naked body against his chest. A peaceful silence permeates the room around them, which is dimly lighted with flickering candles lining the edge of the bathtub.

Earlier in the shower, they’d scrubbed away the horrors of the day, soothing shared tears with kisses that had quickly turned heated and frantic. Once clean and sated, they’d found further comfort together in a bath, enjoying the closeness it allows with a calming ambiance provided by their ship.

His thoughts turn to the events of the previous day, to the nightmares they’d experienced and the fulfillment of a Beast’s predictions. Almost fulfillment, that is.

No, Rose hadn’t let it win, whatever it was.

So now that the movie is out, I can finally post this lovely photo my husband took while filming Bad Samaritan. This isn’t actually from set but at dinner one night. At most sets I’ve been on, cast/crew eat in a separate area from the extras, but on Bad Samaritan, we were all together which was really cool. My husband (who is much braver than I was) ate at David’s table and asked him about haggis (because my husband is also a dork).

David was exactly as nice and gracious as you would expect him to be. Dean Devlin (the director) is also very down to earth and you could tell he was excited to have David there because the day before David arrived, Dean was wearing his Doctor Who scarf all day. Dean isn’t kidding when he says he’s a Tennant fanboy!

And speaking of Dean, a HUGE shout out and heartfelt THANK YOU to Dean Devlin for bringing the project to Portland and making a bucket list item of mine come true that I never thought would happen. There are a lot of professional actors who never get the chance to work with their heroes, so as an amateur actor, I consider myself extraordinarily lucky and blessed to have had the opportunity to work on a film with David even if it was only as background. It was a dream come true, so thank you Dean. <3 <3

Anyway, if you haven’t seen Bad Samaritan yet, it’s really good and David is just amazingly creepy as the bad guy.

Prompt: Rose had been happily married to John Smith for four years when he landed a new job with Saxon Enterprises. Apparently, John’s old friend, Harry, wanted him to work at his company as a consultant. Despite their falling out as teenagers, John was convinced that they could overcome their differences and work together. Rose had heard the stories about Harold Saxon from her father, the CEO of Vitex, and she was apprehensive about John getting involved with him again. According to her father, Saxon was involved with some shady associates that dabbled in dangerous activities and sometimes people disappeared or changed in terrible ways. Rose grew even more concerned when John began spending more time at the office and even when he was home he was irritable and argumentative.

And then, one day, John just didn’t come home. Rose calls everyone she knows to see if they’ve seen him, but to no avail. Eventually, she contacts Harold Saxon but he professes no knowledge of John’s whereabouts. Maybe he went on vacation, Saxon tells her.

Rose can tell that Saxon knows more than he’s letting on and she will find out what happened to her husband.

So, she contacts her old job: Torchwood, a secret government organization that investigates the dark underbelly of the world. Rose had seen things working at that job; terrible things, things that should never exist, not is this world. Evil creatures brought here by even more monstrous human beings. If John had gotten mixed up with Saxon’s darker hobbies, she could only imagine what he might be going through.

That is, if he’s still…

She would find him alive, or Saxon would not be long for this world.

She would make certain of that.
