The room was dark with only a single light in the far corner of the room. It only illuminated a portion of the concrete room. She could hear a faucet dripping somewhere in the dark and faint footsteps above her. Priya pulled her hands only to feel metal clasped around her wrists, holding her to the pole. She struggled to try and get her hands free as the footsteps got closer. She heard locks click and a door open. She saw the outline of a man with blinding light behind him. “No...” She cried, knowing what was going to happen. “No please... please..” But the man got closer. “No stop!” Priya was screaming. Just as the faceless man put a gentle hand against her cheek, the brunette snapped awake.

Priya shot up in her bed. Her body was sweaty and her heart was racing. Her breath caught in her throat and she tried to calm her breathing. She ran a hand through her dark hair as her mind settle down from the nightmare. Not nightmare... memories.  Her body was calming down as she saw her phone light up on her bedside, “NYPD”. She reached for it and clicked answer. “Hello?” She asked. The woman on the other end spoke and Priya let out a breath. “I’ll be there.” She responded.

30 minutes later Priya was walking into the New York Police Department headquarters. She tugged her leather jacket around her body tighter as she pushed the door open. In the last couple months Priya had become familiar with the inside of the police office however she had tried to distance herself recently. Apparently they noticed. She knew where to go, the special units department for more special and serious cases. Priya pushed the door open and saw the front receptionist for the department. “This better be good, Gwen...” She said walking in, not entirely sure why she was there.
