Also!!! I tend to use terms like “my guy,” dude, bro, bruh, as well as bitch, slut, etc as being well-meaning terms of endearment, but if that doesn’t vibe with you PLEASE TELL ME. And I will stop right away.
Its likely that if I ever talk to you one on one, I will get excited about something and go “OMFG BIIIIIITCH” or “BRUH LISTEN BRUH” and those words can be uncomfy for people! So if that’s the case for you, just tell me.
Same goes for if you are uncomfy with me being a super touchy-feely type. If I get excited or I think you’re awesome I’ll probably express that by saying I wanna smooch you or give you a big hug. Some people don’t want to even think about that, and there’s nothing wrong with that! Just be like “no hugs or smooches please” and you will no longer be at the mercy of my grabby hands! And our friendship will never suffer from it!!!!
Please feel free to call me dude/bro or let me call you dude because it means I’m being real and confiding in youuuuuuuu 💖
also also i have a bad habit to call people “girl” when i dont even know their pronouns, gotta work on changin that. if i refer to u as something u aren’t in an anonymous answer, i apologize. if we’re chattin one on one, please tell me if a nickname i give u feels uncomfortable!
In the part(s) of California where I grew up, “dude” was used as a non-gendered term, suitable for males, females, and anyone else. Also for inanimate objects or people whose gender you didn’t know (like the driver of another car: “whoaaaa dude chill I’m going 5 over the speed limit already”). But I know not everyone experiences the word that way! So if I ever call you “dude” and you feel you are being misgendered, please let me know and I’ll work on not using it for you! (It might take me a couple tries cuz I have Fibro Brain and it’s a long-standing habit, but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t or can’t change!)
