The biggest piece of advice I can give to writers like myself who struggle with losing motivation partway through a WIP, or not knowing how to start it off, is to write it for yourself.

I think many of us tend to subconsciously worry that what may be a good concept to us, may not be that good of a concept to our followers, or that the way we present said story won't be good enough.

So, to combat that, I've been writing all my stories as if I'm the only one who's ever going to read them, and It's helped immensely when it comes to reminding myself that writing should be fun! It shouldn't be a chore, or something you do because you feel like you have to. You shouldn't be obsessing on other people's opinions on your story, something that you've written because you enjoy doing it, even though I know so many of us do.

I think that's an important thing to remember.

pining is 100000% the most important aspect of pre-relationship fic for me. good-natured whole-hearted pining filled with lovelorn gazing and chest aching and fluttering touches, that’s my top priority. i was put on this earth to watch characters suffer over the profundity of their love for another person. unrequited love is why god made me. characters finding out that their feelings are reciprocated after long months/years of suffering is why the universe was assembled from nothingness. amen.

“Everyone, say hi to the camera,” Jc told you all as Bobby panned the camera over the group of girls. You and Tara shared an awkward look as you two waved at Bobby. Your nerves were heightening with every second that got you closer to getting into the box.

Earlier, Colby told you that it got quite hot in the transparent container, but he encouraged you by telling you that he knew his girl could do it. That was the mantra that you replayed over and over in your head. His words were on repeat in your brain. ‘If anyone can do it, it’s my girl.’
