Hey, it’s Red. I kinda sorta abandoned this blog when I started @exemplartemplar, and while I want to come back, I’m not sure I’ll be able to keep it active. I just wanted to let you know where I’m at most of the time now, and that I just unfollowed over 300 people based on inactivity and whether I could remember their url, so if you changed your url or something and you are still active and you want me to follow again, just let me know!!

Side note, I’ve been in Russia for 3 months and I’ll be going back home to America soon. It’s been great and I’ve been busy, and we’ll see what happens when I’m stateside again.

WHY TAMAERCI ALLIED WITH THE TEMPLARS.

In my first playthrough,  I missed the bit about choosing mages OR templars, and I was having trouble finding Redcliffe so I did the Templars first.
But the thing is, it’s totally something Tamaerci would do. She didn’t fully understand the why behind the mage-templar war. She naively thought she would be able to ally with both factions, thought they would work together to stop the fucking hole in the sky, whatever their differences. She figured, “Hmm two powerful factions we could approach. Wow great how about the mages and I close the hole in the fucking sky while the templars weaken it!” She didn’t realize she would only get the chance to get one group on her side, and she just happened to pick Therinfal Redoubt over Redcliffe. When people give her shit about it - and they do, oh, they do - she just shrugs wordlessly, or if she’s feeling bitey she will say “Done is done, qalaba.” and silently blame the advisors a bit because they left the decision up to her and she sometimes thinks she made the wrong one and they were supposed to advise her damn it!

“A que-what now?” Briar asked. He tried to sit up and pain flashed behind his eyes. Apparently his attempts to be scholarly in the mage circle had been useless. Well, when he wasn’t living in the forest as a bird.

“I- yes please. And maybe a brandy to go with it?” he asked. If he was going to be seeing things, he may as well enjoy it.

“Qunari. Or, vashoth. I don’ follow th’ Qun. Name’s Tamaerci.” She pulls out one of the party’s potions and offers it to him, smiling. “Afraid we don’ have any brandy with us, we’ve been on th’ road a while.”

“If your men want t’ kill me o’er words, then so be it. I can name many Orlesian nobles who’d thank ‘em for it.” She’s more than a little frustrated, and less than skilled at diplomacy.  “Look, it’s no Blight, o Warden-King, but if Corypheus gets his way, it might’s well be. All th’ Inquisition is askin’ is y’help stop the end o’ th’ world.”

Tamaerci is unsurprised. “Ne'er seen a qunari before, hmm?” She touches the nubs of horns on the top of her head thoughtfully. “You should see Bull.” She kneels down beside the stranger. “Would y’like a healin’ potion?”

Jaw clenching, she takes a moment to calm down before she responds. “’M sorry. My impatience does me no credit, but I've few allies an’ many enemies. I fear I don’ have time to earn th’ trust of neutral parties; though I s’pose tha’ shouldn’t stop me from tryin’.”

"Imekari.” Tamaerci’s voice is soft, soothing. She reaches up and strokes the base of Ximisaari’s horns, a comfort tactic learned from her years as a tamassran - and something she herself finds calming as well. “I can read them, and, na’thek, I can teach you.”
