Unpopular opinion apparently, but I was completely blown away by Make Up (2019).

(Full disclosure: Stephanie Martini is so gorgeous and gives me the tummy-butterflies, and I am not sure I could adore that lovely doe-eyed babyboy anymore, so ymmv)

That said, it's a psychological thriller so unnerving it skates the edge of horror (without any known, tangible villian) before revealing itself to be a feminist coming of age, self-discovery, art house love story. The plot is tight, the pace is good, the subtext is *chefs kiss*, and everyone played their role brilliantly!

And I was forced once more to pour one out for another hapless Joseph Quinn character: my poor, simple, darling Tom who has no idea what the hell is going on the entire time.

That max can survive several broken bones and a whole standoff with vecna but Eddie dies in vain to fulfill some heroic redemption arc that wasn't necessary? He deserved better than that.
