It’s been 5 years since the events of X and Y and the Battle Chateau has been recently remodeled and expanded upon, making it a luxury battle resort where trainers and researchers alike can train their Pokemon as well as relax in a deluxe Kalosian paradise. Current Plot: Tension is in the air as a new nefarious criminal group has arisen and been behind multiple kidnappings. Known as Team Nightlock, hardly anyone knows what their goals or intentions are. Will you solve the mystery and stop Team Nightlock before it’s too late?

Completely agree here. I think what helps me is remembering that most roleplayers are shy nerds that want to write their characters. So in most scenarios, I try to be straightforward about what I want.. if I have an idea on what I want. Though sometimes I just don’t know. Most of the time I have to RP with a person first before I can determine if I want some sort of ship or not.
In conclusion it’s good to communicate no matter if it’s a ship, or a certain kind of plot.

Hey FFXIV RP community, long time no see! So my attempt to get back into FFXIV wasn’t very successful lol but I’m not going to fully quit still. I still want to come online and RP casually, check my house, redecorate my house, interact with friends old and new, all that fun shit. However for the past month or so I’ve been staring at my tumblr blog and asking myself - what the hell do I do with this?
And I think I found the answer in a sense that.. I will still keep my tumblr up! And I’ll still post FFXIV stuff sometimes. I like taking screenshots of Zhara for example and I like talking about RP stuff on FFXIV. However, I’m planning on changing the focus of my blog a bit and instead of making it a full FFXIV RP blog, it’ll just be a general writing blog for my FFXIV muses, my Pokemon muses, and maybe even my World of Warcraft muses that have been hidden in the back of my mind for years.
So yeah! That’s kind of what I’m planning on doing. I still want to be active on this blog. I may change the url but for now it’s just going to be zhara-liara-yui for simplicity’s sake.
In other news... I wanna promote a blog! Not just any blog, my girlfriend’s blog. For anyone who enjoys looking at art, nerdy things and Pokemon my girlfriend @jadedrosenakia has some really neat stuff. She’s an amazing artist! She doesn’t do commissions, at least not yet. If she ever has interest in doing them I’ll promote her advertisements like crazy lmao.
But yeah that’s kind of what’s going on with me! Look forward to seeing more content, whether it’s FFXIV related or something else.
So, I don’t want to make a for sure announcement in saying that I’m back and I’m going to be active in the game because I really can’t promise anything but I’ve had an itch for wanting to RP Zhara again. I also have a really awesome Mist beachfront house that’s just not being used and I want to use it!

Hey there! I have no idea how much of a following I had on this blog but if I did have a following that happened to notice that I dropped off the face of the earth - I kind of did! I played FFXIV very rarely throughout this year.. but I want to say I officially quit last month.
I quit for a lot of reasons, main reason because.. I just never enjoyed the game in the first place. I know that’s an extremely unpopular opinion but by the time I got into the game, I was burnt out by MMOs in general. I quit WoW for the same reason, because I was burnt out from playing a MMO but an ex persuaded me to hop on the FFXIV bandwagon. I would’ve quit a long time ago, except that FFXIV had a pretty awesome RP community so I stuck around for a little while longer, about a few years. I met quite a few amazing RP partners, and had a grand old time but eventually that got stale for me.
On top of that, it seemed like the FFXIV RP community was incredibly toxic! I heard of girls getting bullied off of Balmung. Around the beginning of 2019 I heard that a player had almost committed suicide because people started a witch hunt against him on tumblr. The cancel/witch hunt culture on Tumblr was just horrific.
For the longest time I tried to continue playing, because my boyfriend at the time @fjolnir-ffxiv really wanted me to.. but eventually I just couldn’t keep going. I feel kind of bad, because we did make a FC together but luckily thanks to the officer team in Black Ivy as well as Fjolnir himself, the FC has managed to stay together. Fjolnir and I have since broken up but we’ve managed to stay friends!
Anyways, not sure if I had much of a following on here like I said, but just thought I’d make an explanation as to why I suddenly disappeared. If you wanna talk to me my Discord is SpilltheTea#1370! I’m still roleplaying, but primarily on Discord. I’m currently running two RP Discord servers with some my friends and it’s been an awesome time so far!

“The Velvet Rose” is a major FC on the Balmung server that, for years, has been under the spell of a vile, manipulative narcissistic abuser. Please inform people who may be at risk, share this to everyone you know, and hold Cirina Malqir publicly accountable for her long track record of horrific abuse.
I’m glad someone’s finally calling this person out. So... I want to say about two years ago, Ashe and Cirina were actually in the Bandee Pakshee for about two months, back when I was an officer.
Like I said, it was two years ago, so my mind is a little foggy, but she caused drama with other members in the FC -and- Ashe actually said she was okay with there being nudes of Khloe (who’s a 10 year old miqo’te girl if you need a reminder). At some point down the line I ended up rage kicking Cirina from the discord, which may have been out of line for me as an officer, but fuck that honestly. She’s terrible.
Even long after they left/were removed from the FC, my FC leader still wanted to work with Velvet Rose. I wanted none of that bullshit, working with them made me uncomfortable, which was one minor reason why I ultimately left Bandee Pakshee. Anyways, for those who are still in Velvet Rose or interact with these people, be very careful and look out for red flags.

With the expansion around the corner and the increased stunts of people being absolute asses to others who play NPCs, I want to ask that people be nice and caring. Twice now has a dear friend of mine been openly harassed, and many raubahn/pipin savage jokes have turned to hate. People are responding in game by saying we “deserve it” because of our name and the characters we play, that we should expect it and deal with it. Not even thinking about how the person on the other side of the screen feels.
I don’t care if you have a personal vendetta against a character or race or whatever. Keep it to yourself. Treat others how you want to be treated. Don’t constantly slap a person and expect someone to be okay with it. NPC players get enough hate as is and we don’t need people being dicks just because.
My humblest apologies as I truly don’t like having to bring up these matters, but I’m tired of people attacking players for a character they play for /fun/. The occasional joke and jab is fine, we get that! But don’t harass someone consistently for no damn reason. ]]
[[ Boy where do I start… of course I expected random hate from random Joes in duty finder or such cause I run with the name of one of the most hated NPCs and normally I shrug it with a joke. But every once in a while I’m not at my best and I get the /slap spammer whom I ask to please stop cause I’m in mid fight and frankly its distracting having someone slap spam you and shout how they want to kill you or whatever. And then I get belittled and get the mocking replies that I shouldn’t get mad cause I’d have had it coming with name like this.
Wow.
I mean, is this what you tell to victims of sexual harrassment too? Their fault for dressing revealing? Of course its fictional situation but the mentality is very real.
Frankly it left very bad taste in my mouth. I also fail to understand how asking someone to stop, explaining its rude equals to being mad. I filed a report but since they weren’t in my party I couldn’t really blacklist those players. The system needs some fixes.
There was also this guy who kept sending me tells how he wants to serve my head to the Scions when I was waiting for duty to pop lol poor guy was very adamant to be IC even after I told him that I’m not rping, I’m just waiting for my roulette. My duty popped and I really didn’t bother after.
I’ve had more pleasant encounters than bad ones however! I met many good friends and I do have fun running as an NPC, between expacs. I enjoy making funny memes and gifs! But every once in a while I get anxiery pile up when I solo queue or go to other servers or public events thinking, when is random angry Joe gonna come out to deliver justice cause they saw NPC name they hate and forget there is a player behind the name?
It’s a game and it really shouldn’t be source for anxiety or stress. It really saddens me someone could belittle others purely on visuals but here we are.
And yes, it’s an MMO, yes we need thicker skin and yes these are piled encounters that sometimes get too much and one just wants to scream into the void for a bit. I’m not a petty person, far away from that but when someone tells you to stop, you should really stop. ]]
Ack.. it’s always frustrating when people post problems about harassment. This really shouldn’t be happening. You can disagree with thinking that RPing canon characters is okay, you can disagree with any sort of character concept but if you do, just don’t interact or RP with those people. xD
At the end of the day, it’s their subscription money. Let them RP whatever they want to RP whether it’d be RPing Aymeric or Raubahn and Merlwyb’s love child. It really doesn’t matter.
I’ve gone through a lot the past couple of months, and the community has been quite the source of comfort and support during this time. And while I can’t give back to everyone who helped me. I wanted to do something for the community as a whole with what I have! (And also I hit another Milestone which whoof that is a lot of people watching this blog now)
