Paul always apologized/acted oblivious in the goodbye videos because he was didn’t want someone to win a buy back on a twist and come back in the house gunning for him. One of the reasons that the Jury didn’t vote for him was because of his shitty goodbye videos... so Paul’s awareness of the abundance of twists is one of the main things that cost him the game two years in a row... so production accidentally played its own pet by loving twists

I agree that the goodbye videos are part of the reason that he lost, bc when Josh followed up exposing Paul it made them really bitter, but Paul didn’t act that way bc he thought there might be a buyback imo. Julie told them as soon as jury started that there was no buyback so they knew no one was coming back. Paul thought he could get away with lying to everyone until the end, as if they wouldn’t compare notes? He failed to realize that by building a “brand” based on “friendship” and treating every person in that house like they were his best friend, when they realized that not only was he lying but that he wouldn’t even admit it, that those people wouldn’t respect that. So basically I just think it was more of Paul being a shitty BB player than him trying to predict production but i get what you mean!
