Hey, hot take, but if a company decides they no longer want to distribute a piece of media they own the rights to, then they should be legally required to sign the rights back over to the creator.

In computer gaming there's a concept called Abandonware that runs on this premise. That if the company isn't making it and selling it anymore, it's acceptable to copy/download/pirate it.
Applied in a wider sense, if there's no way for you to access it legally, then illegally is fuckin' fine.
But yes, if the owner isn't using it they ought to be obligated to make it available to someone who will.

i feel like that’s another level of bluestars betrayal and hatred of tigerclaw in the later books because she feels as though he robbed her the chance to properly grieve for oakheart. she believed for over a year that he killed redtail and had broken the warrior code - OAKHEART, who was one of the most honorable cats she knew, who she still trusted w her whole heart - and she didn’t even want to hear his name, scorned him, and even thought that she was glad he was dead if he was the one who killed redtail….and she’s so betrayed and hurt because tigerclaw lied to her. above everything else - killing redtail, endangering her clan, trying to kill her - he robbed her of the time to grieve for the father of her kits and made her believe he was a murderer

The best part is you aren't actually paying for anything. Nintendo doesn't have actual servers, all their multiplayer games run on peer-to-peer connection. It's not even covering server costs or anything, it's an empty charge.
