my favorite Millennial Thing™ is when a group of us are standing around and talking and someone asks a question that no one knows the answer to and suddenly it’s a race to get out your phone and google it and be the first to know, and then someone starts reading the Wikipedia article about the thing aloud to everyone else, and what started as a casual conversation is now A Learning Opportunity and we all walk away a little more knowledgeable about a random topic

Like, Boomers hate when we do that, but I think it’s one of the best things about us.

So long as we have internet or a cell signal, all of the world’s collective knowledge is at our fingertips, and damned if we aren’t going to use it.

My dad always get mad when I do this. He’s always like “We didn’t need to know.” That makes no sense to me. Why would that make me ignore my ability to learn something? I don’t always *need* to know but that doesn’t mean I’m going to pass up an opportunity to learn something new.

Why carry a supercomputer around in your pocket if you’re not gonna use it?

We went on a cruise last year (zero service) and it made me realize how OFTEN I do this! I ended up making a list of things I wanted to look up cause like…I needed to know!! My grandmother lightly made fun of my list but after realizing she had also benefited from this phenomenon before she would come to me and say “hey here’s something to add to your list!” We called her on the drive home (once we knew their plane had landed) and told them both what we’d learned 😂

This hotel reminds you to steal the toiletries!

I work in hotels/resorts, and honestly, take the little shampoos and soaps! We throw them away when you leave (we don’t know if you’ve opened them and messed with them or whatever, so for health and safety it all goes in the trash) If you stay at the fancier places or chains, they’ve actually done some bit of thought into the scents for the toiletries, in that if you use them while at home you’ll remember the time you stayed at the hotel and be more likely to return. Just don’t take the towels or the robes or any of that shit, it’s expensive.

This is true, all soaps, shampoos, and the like are tossed after a guest checks out of the hotel even if it’s clearly unopened because it is considered a health hazard violation in most places if they’re left there. If someone were to somehow get sick from it, a hotel can be shut down. Just take the toiletries, they’re ordered in bulk as is and only cost the hotel a few dollars to order them by the hundreds

Remember, kids! It’s good to commit theivery!

The first lion is asking for comfort because she was given a big spook!!! and she needs mommy to tell her it’s safe and ok!!!! (What’s cuter is that mommy clearly reassures her, and goes on to take the parent role of ‘deal with the scream rat in order to protect my large and easily frightened daughter’)

I feel like at some point the internet had the entire piracy debate settled and then a bunch of money got pumped into making people believe the slogan “intellectual property rights are human rights” and now we’re stuck with like, that kind of millennial/zoomer whose entire lifestyle is based on feeling guilty and never wanting to do anything even slightly ethically questionable, who will try to lecture you about how you’re causing real human harm and suffering because you torrented skyrim.

Millennial here: the secret to pirating ethically is just only pirate from big companies. Indie stuff? Pay for it, if you’re able.
