"Ballad About A Smoke-Filled Wagon" (Don’t separate from your dear ones...), Alexander Kochetkov (translated by metamorphesque)

The summer of 1932 was spent by Kochetkov in Sochi with his wife. They stayed with relatives for several months, and in the autumn, the poet purchased a ticket to Moscow. His wife planned to join him later. She accompanied him to the station, but at the last minute, when the train's departure had already been announced, she suddenly persuaded him to stay. They changed the ticket, and Kochetkov postponed the trip for three days. The train he was originally supposed to take met with a catastrophe at the Moscow-Tovarnaya station.

Despite the tragic accident three days earlier, Kochetkov eventually departed. In the capital, his appearance was seen by colleagues as a resurrection. Friends and acquaintances knew he had bought a ticket for a train that had been wrecked, but they were unaware that he had changed his mind at the last moment and surrendered the ticket. Among the casualties were acquaintances of the poet - Moscow residents who were returning from the Sochi sanatorium that day. Kochetkov was saved from death by love. This is how the idea for the poem "Ballad about a Smoke-Filled Wagon" came to be.

went to a discussion led by elliot page earlier today and there were many good things said but at one point the other presenter asked him "what's a cool thing about yourself that has nothing to do with being trans?" and he said "uhh this is all I've got going for me" and then paused before adding "if anyone has three oranges, I can juggle"

im not anti-black when i say i dont like rap its just i dont like how its misogynistic or about sex or about violence (it is reasonable to assume every single rap song ever written tackles those 3 topics exclusively) so i prefer listening to genres like rock and metal (genres notably free of misogyny, sex, and violence)

There are around 600,000 children crammed in a 60km area in Rafah. A doctor said it sounds like a giant playground in Rafah with how many children there are in such a small area. Israel is currently trapping all of these children in, blocking the only exit they have, and preventing food and water from getting to them while it conducts deadly airstrikes and levels entire buildings on top of them.

This is a war on children, make no mistake.
