☆ notes: if you didn’t know, jake said he’d call his s/o every day (source) 🥺🥺
You and Jake called every day whenever you couldn’t see each other.
Because of the comeback schedule, during the week he was spending every night at the dorms with the boys, and you were at your apartment alone. Normally, on nights Jake could, he’d fall asleep at your place instead. You both were trying to spend as much time together as possible, but it seemed like you’d just have to wait until whenever Enhypen’s activities died down, because it had been two and a half weeks since you last saw Jake. Getting ready for their next comeback was not only sucking up all your time with Jake but his time in general. Of course, he was still incredibly excited, and so were you. The concept was different from what they’ve done in the past and Jake even got to participate in writing one of the songs! But that didn’t change that he was getting a little tired and overwhelmed.
He still managed to not miss a single daily call, ringing you up whenever he could, but you would tell him every time that it’s okay to miss some. You just wanted him to get some rest. Jake sounded more exhausted each time he called, and you felt bad that he was using his valuable energy to talk to you, but he insisted that he needed to speak to you in order to even relax or fall asleep.
“How could I get any rest before hearing my girl’s voice? I gotta know if her day’s going good or not.” He joked.
Today he called a little after 12 o’clock. You figured he was calling you during their lunch break, but when you answered and said hello, you didn’t hear the usual sound of the other boy’s voices laughing and joking or Jake’s voice saying ‘hello’ back.
You heard a bit of shuffling, starting to wonder if he pocket dialed you when his weak, almost watery voice came through the speaker.
“I…I don’t feel very good right now.”
