Sham nods, grabbing on tight. “God, I really hope not.. fuck..”

Dark snapped his fingers, teleporting them into the alley next to the hospital. “You okay, Shammy? You good to do this?”

“I was about to say-“ Sham sighed. “He fell coming up the stairs. Knees gave out.”

Dark started down the stairs, rolling up the sleeves of his dress shirt. “He’s talking? Conscious? Any breathing issues?”

“Doesn’t seem like it. Conscious yes, talking yes. Just says it hurts all over.”

“Mark? Buddy? You still in there?” He knelt down, looking them over. “An ambulance might be a decent idea, or I can take you both.”

“Either one works, just- we really need to get him help.” He mumbled.

“Hang on.” Dark carefully gathered Mark into his arms, standing and nodding at Sham. “Grab on, I’m faster. Hopefully he didn’t break his back.”

“I was about to say-“ Sham sighed. “He fell coming up the stairs. Knees gave out.”

Dark started down the stairs, rolling up the sleeves of his dress shirt. “He’s talking? Conscious? Any breathing issues?”

“Mark? Buddy? You still in there?” He knelt down, looking them over. “An ambulance might be a decent idea, or I can take you both.”

“Ok, so- I found out something while they were monitoring me, and.. everything’s fine, don’t worry, but if you notice dark being a bit more protective than usual..” he trails off, looking to Mark as he trails off for suspense.

He raised an eyebrow. “Okay? What… I don’t… I don’t get it, Sham.”

“Love you moooore~” he hums, before going to fix up the bed.

Mark smiled after them, calling the Chinese restaurant, then started for the stairs to go up to their bedroom. He was about halfway up when his knee suddenly gave out as he stepped onto it, sending him flying forwards to smack his forehead against the step, then tumbled down the stairs limply, groaning.

“Oh fuck-“ Sham bolts out, eyes widened. “Mark? What the hell happened, are you okay?!” At that, he bolts down after him, carefully going to hold him up.

“I- I don’t know,” he managed, staying still with his eyes squeezed shut. “My leg gave out and I fell but not sure how I’m doing…. Stuff hurts pretty much everywhere.”

“Fuck, do I need to call an ambulance-?” He mumbled. “Dark! Hey! A little help here!”

Mark tried to shrug but winced.

“Sham, I’m busy? Can’t Mark help you-“ Dark appeared at the top of the stairs, expression instantly changing to concern as he saw Mark on the floor. “What happened.”

“Love you moooore~” he hums, before going to fix up the bed.

Mark smiled after them, calling the Chinese restaurant, then started for the stairs to go up to their bedroom. He was about halfway up when his knee suddenly gave out as he stepped onto it, sending him flying forwards to smack his forehead against the step, then tumbled down the stairs limply, groaning.

“Oh fuck-“ Sham bolts out, eyes widened. “Mark? What the hell happened, are you okay?!” At that, he bolts down after him, carefully going to hold him up.

“I- I don’t know,” he managed, staying still with his eyes squeezed shut. “My leg gave out and I fell but not sure how I’m doing…. Stuff hurts pretty much everywhere.”

“Fuck, so did I-“ he manages, hugging them as tight as he can. “Oh god, it was awful-“

“I know, god Shammy I’m gonna be really fucked up for a long time..” He awkwardly guided them to the couch based on memory alone, collapsing onto it without letting them go.

He nuzzled in close. “God, this feels nice… did.. did Dark tell you I actually ended up in the hospital…?”

“….no? What happened?! Are you okay?”

“Some dumbass caused me to have a serious allergic reaction.” He sighed. “Gave me something with almond extract in it without paying attention.”

“Jesus Christ….” He closed his eyes, squeezing them closer. “Shammy I’m so sorry.. how long were you in there? How bad did it get?”

“Oh not long. Dark saw and got me there within like- ten minutes before it got so bad I passed out. Wasn’t in the hospital long.. but.. I may or may not have some news-“

He nodded. “That’s…. Good. That’s good…. Okay, what - what’s the other news? You’re just full of surprises, huh sweet thing?”

“Love you moooore~” he hums, before going to fix up the bed.

Mark smiled after them, calling the Chinese restaurant, then started for the stairs to go up to their bedroom. “Yes please!” He beams. “God- I shouldn’t have convinced you to go healthy, I’m starting to regret that.” He snorts.

“Oh I know, same.” He puckered his lips, leaning against the fridge. “Give me a kiss then you go clean up the bed so I can rest, I’ll call and make my way up?”

He snorts, giggling as he walks up to kiss him softly. “Can do will do.”

He chased their lips as they pulled away, sighing. “Thanks, cupcake. Love youuuuu.”

“Fuck, so did I-“ he manages, hugging them as tight as he can. “Oh god, it was awful-“

“I know, god Shammy I’m gonna be really fucked up for a long time..” He awkwardly guided them to the couch based on memory alone, collapsing onto it without letting them go.

“Nuh-uh,” he whined, making puppy eyes at them. “Can we order something? Please Shammy? Maybe I’ll die in my sleep and our last conversation will be you telling me to eat healthy.”

“Fiiine, What do we want to order?” He chuckled. “Still wanting more takeout?”

“You know it.” He pointed finger guns at them. “I can call, you want your usual?”

“Fuck, so did I-“ he manages, hugging them as tight as he can. “Oh god, it was awful-“

He grinned brightly. “I have waited so fucking long to hear that. Let’s go home.”

He nods, smiling softly. “Please. I’ve missed this..”

“I’ve missed you,” he countered, heading out the door.

He just.. stayed close, opting to stay silent until they’re both home safe.

Once they stepped back inside and locked the door Mark all but threw himself at them, burying his face into their shoulder, arms holding them tight. “I thought I was never gonna see you again…….”
