I really hate asking for money and I really despise Facebook fundraisers, but here I am, asking for the best Hannukkah present you could possibly give me.

Charlotte came to me back in September, less than a week after we lost our lovely little piggy Moose. Her previous owners lived in my building and were ready to move on from her. They told me that at one point they had 4 pigs, and were down to 1 after just three years. She had never had her nails clipped, or had a bath. She was eating bad quality food, and was very grimey. I instantly fell in love with her and took her home as soon as I could. Since then, multiple medical issues have come up. First it was bumblefoot (infected and inflamed feet). Then it was digestive issues. Then I noticed some signs of what I thought might be an ovarian cyst, which was just confirmed by our vet. She has been in pain for a long time, probably longer than I’ve had her. Ovarian cysts are not uncommon in guinea pigs, but they are also not preventable. She is currently taking some pain medication to tide her over until her procedure, which is scheduled for next week. Unfortunately, I do not currently have the money to pay for her procedure up front. I hate asking for money, and I really hate FB fundraisers. But here I am, asking for the best Hannukkah present you could possibly give me. If you are willing / able, please donate either here or through my venmo (@regurman). Every bit helps. We will be updating this page after Charlotte’s procedure to let you all know how she is doing. The most important thing is that we get Charlotte healthy and feeling better.
