the parallels between luke and zuko……………………..they tried. they Played By The Rules. they really did!!! but they got screwed over for their loyalty, their kindness, and lost the only people who seemed to understand and love them (but gained a horrible face scar!).
then they are confronted with the protagonist who 1. should not even exist and 2. doesn’t listen to any of the rules of how things should go! they play by their own rulebook governed by loyalty and compassion!! tf!!
luke, guided by kronos, responds by doubling down on hatred and cruelty. zuko, guided by iroh, responds by a painful redressing of his own philosophy, and eventual redemption.
