You can’t be serious
this is such a silly thing to say because people HAVE boycott the oscars, not just during this year's ceremony (Miyazaki has never attended the oscars, including last night's ceremony, the first time as a act of protest against the US invasion of Iraq) but also in the past. Marlon Brandon famously boycott the oscars in 1972.... You are not obligated to attend a 3 hour award show, especially when there is a chance that you might not win and is run by a racist institution that does nothing but ignore anybody that isn't white, refusing the reward them for their talent until they decide to hand them a honorary oscar.(if they can be bothered) If they were really about it they would've literally stayed at home!

This is proof that capitalism is not about freedom. Not even close.
In a system that values freedom, it would be expected that people would value living over working.
This is the same mentality as those who claimed to value freedom but owned slaves. They want freedom for themselves while everyone else serves them. They still haven't grown out of that.
For the record, Gen Z is smart to do this. To any generation out there reading this, live your life. Do enough to keep the job, and devote as much time and energy leftover to your life. Do not give your all for a company that cannot and will not love you back.

No matter how many times I read this, it is just horrifying. While the baby was able to survive thankfully, their mother is no longer in this world to be there for them during the stages of their life. I hope this child only knows love, light, happiness, and prosperity as they grow up. May their parent rest in power and peace.
