Michael hadn’t actually expected her to laugh at his line, but when she didn’t, he felt himself relax even more. She was unpredictable, and while that was something that he absolutely loved, it also kept him on edge, from time to time. Apparently, however, she’d seen the truth behind his admittedly cheesy line. Or maybe it wasn’t cheesy, if he truly meant it, he couldn’t be sure. The moment she straddled him, his hands moved to rest on her hips, eyes trailing to her face. “You do look lovely when you blush, Jacquelyn,” he admitted with a smile. He leaned up, just enough to catch her lips with his own, the kiss slow and unhurried, still just exploring this new side of them. She’d joked about feeling like a teenager with a crush, but Michael did feel like this was something completely new too, something he hadn’t quite experienced before.
