#yes because I did social data science in undegrad and we had to scrape sm data for a report or two#I used twitter data cos they had the better api at the time but I did in fact consider using tumblr data originally lmao#my uni wouldn't let you use scraped sm data for a capstone/dissertation without an ethics approval but they don't require one for coursewor#we did have to do a writeup of ethical considerations as part of the report tho#which basically went ''there's no standardised approach to this also agreeing to sm t&c's means your data is up for grabs''

Saw another poll that asked what your natural hair color was with half the choices being shades of blonde and that just won't do. Let's go about this the professional way (this does not describe tone but tones are based off this level system). Some natural levels fall in between these, as human variation will do, but go with what you believe is closest.

*some level systems include levels 11 and 12 but these are strictly to describe shades lightened above a level 10 and are not considered on the naturally occurring spectrum for hair aside from going lighter with age

#level 2 looks about the closest?#I might be like the darker end of level 3 cos I get more brown tones in direct sunlight#but if these are measured like indoors witha stable artificial light it would be lvl 2#as a child I was around level 7 but my hair really darkened by the time I reached my teens

It's so funny to me that stem major took an early lead on this (like 49%?) because it was posted by me, a math blog (I should have had the sense to use someone else instead of stem major due to obvious bias) and now it's fallen to like 29% as it escapes my orbit. Reblog to overcome homecourt bias or whatever lol
