Goro hadn’t expected to run into the black-haired male so soon after his revival. Yet; Akira was standing right in front of him wanting a bit of an explanation.

Honey-kissed hues stared at the other’s silver. They didn’t part on the best of terms and it wasn’t for whimsical godly interference; Goro would still be dead. No, he was alive and that in itself was a punishment fitting for him. To live in a world that had mostly forgotten him; to live knowing how much blood was upon his palms. It was a suffocating feeling. It was hard to breathe, to live, to hope in a world so dirty.

It was a world that was bearable because a few reached out their hands and offered friendship in his final moments.

“How..to begin…?” he began unsure how to explain himself. “I..Akira..I” his words was failing him now.

Initially he’d thought his eyes were fooling him.

He’d just about flat run into the man whose passing had.... royally fucked him up, if he were to be honest. Dark circles hugged his eyes-- he never slept well these days, nightmares jumping to various points in the past several months. From an interrogation room all the way to his time in solitary confinement, though most often they were in Shido’s palace, and familiar, desperate words would ring through every time.

So to see that same man, with perfectly parted brunet hair and eyes just as tired as his own.... His jaw clamps shut with a clack of his teeth.

❝ --Okay. I’m dreaming. ❞

That’s the only logical answer, at least, and he steps closer, hesitantly reaching out to brush bangs out of his face-- looking for a bullet hole to make this dream a nightmare, it seems.

Only there’s nothing there, and his hair is soft and warm and-- his vision blurs and his eyes feel wet.
