Can I Kiss You?

(Archosie Extended Drabble)

Something I wrote after that amazing scene from last nights episode. These two have such amazing chemistry, probably the best out of all the couples (next to Choni), in my opinion.

She sees his honeyed brown eyes avert towards her lips, his scrutiny is soft yet smoldering as he haphazardly moves his guitar aside. Josie inhaled a soft breath as he draws closer to her, genially chiseling his body against her smaller one. Goosebumps prickled along her skin, she shudders softly as his nimble fingers caress her arm, moving in a sinuous path until they laid on her waist.

“Archie,” She whispers timidly, finding herself succumbing to his coquettish glares. She flickers her own eyes down at his lips and she nearly chastises herself for wanting to kiss him so badly. She ponders about how soft they are, what they tasted like, more importantly how they would feel against hers. Josie stares at his irresistibly pink plumped lips, still holding a shaky breath that she was unaware of holding.

“Can I kiss you?” He asks in an equally timid and wavering voice, almost as if he was afraid of her answer. He leans forward; their foreheads are slightly touching. Slowly, inexorably, he presses his lips to Josie’s. It’s soft and gentle and chaste but it still so much more than that – it’s a wave of warmth that fills him up, spilling out from his heart and to the warmth of Josie’s lips that sends an unidentifiable rush to every corner of his body.

Their lips are moving in perfect tandem; her plump, saccharine lips compelling against his warm, thinner ones. He continued to press his lips more impenetrably and rougher onto Josie’s, enthralling in the gentle movements of her wet mouth, and swallowing the soft moan that spilled from her lips.

His insistent mouth was parting her trembling lips as he kissed her with a ravenous ardor, sending wild tremors along her nerves, inflicting sensations she had never known she was capable of feeling. Archie’s grip around her waist tightened slightly as he pulled her closer, finding himself desperate to feel the warmth that her body provided.

Josie’s arms entwined around his waist, her fingers idly mussle through his coiffed hair while her thumb caressed at his nape. Josie whimpers softly as his teeth tugged at her lower lip. He huffed a disgruntled groan as he pries his swollen red lips away from hers momentarily. He moved his guitar aside, somewhere forgotten as he hastily pressed his lips against hers again.

The timidity that once resided amongst them is has diminished. Archie kisses Josie hungrily and desperately. Both of their lips are swollen and their lungs are burning for air, but they continue to stand there engulfed in each other’s arms as they kissed.

“God, you’re so beautiful.” He murmurs against her lips, bringing one hand up to her cheek and caressing at her soft skin with the padding of his thumb. He opens his eyes and glared down at her. Josie smiles shyly, finding herself blushing under the softness of his scrutiny and the unwavering warmth that filled his eyes.

“You’ve got to deal with your demons head on”

I’m satisfied with the how the Archie and Josie scenes happened in this episode! Josie was able to help Archie when he spiraled, but she was clearly constructive and she told him to get it together in the politest way possible whilst still staying true to her character. She didn’t baby him at all. Nothing toxic about that imo

I also want to add that I really like that the writers added little references to Josie and Archie’s relationship in previous seasons i.e. “I know we didn’t talk much last year” and “just like old times? (about the jamming session). I know it was the writers’ attempt to string together the few scenes they’ve had but it was very beautiful to me okay?

It reminds me how they’ve really grown to respect each other (or more, Josie’s really grown to respect Archie over the course of the show!) In the pilot, she didn’t want to engage with him or his music in anyway, and when he helped the Pussycats write music, Josie only allowed it because it was a favour for Cheryl. But now, she’s happy to have a jamming session with him…she’s even seriously joking about him singing back up. Urgh…I love them
