Sironin Lavellan always calls. Not only is he respectful of Dorians time but is also painfully aware that he is not always comfortable having romantic conversations in an uncontrolled environment.

Dorian once called Siro at four a clock in the morning -that he knew his boyfriend was at work- to bitch about about a single typo in Ferelden's national anthem.

A/N: Apache_wells_66  on AO3 left a comment about how they were intrigued by “the girl who usually does this for me” as mentioned in my fic, Oakmoss and Elderflower.  This fic is the result of the of the little plot bunnies they set to jumping in my head.  Also, I suck at titles, so yeah.

I don’t know if anything futher will come out of this, and this is my first honest attempt at a non-inquisitor OC, so I honestly have no idea what I am doing. I am happy with the way this turned out, happy in a way that I have not been with my recent attempts, but again, I don’t know if this even works for anyone.

I’d love it if you all would tell me what you think of this. I have some ideas for a longer fic involving this character, Cullen, and my Inquisitor, but I don’t know if there would be any interest in something like that. So, please, let me know. Likes, reblogs,  comments, and constructive criticism are all welcome!

Eala hurried along the battlements, the chill evening wind lifting her hair from her shoulders. If she didn’t hurry, she would be late, and even though he wouldn’t scold her for it, she would feel bad about making him wait for her. She remembered the first time she had attended him as if it were yesterday. She had been so intimidated by his very presence that she could do little but respond to him in squeaked “yes, Sers” and no, Sers.”

But he had smiled at her, a genuine smile that had crinkled the corners of his eyes, and explained what he needed her to do. He had been gentle, kind, and perhaps even a little sheepish at requiring such a service, and that had put her at ease right away. And because of this, since that night in Haven, she had begun to look forward to their twice-daily sessions.

Now, she knocked crisply upon his office door before opening it and entering his tower. As was usual, the Commander sat behind his desk,  elbow deep in reports. He looked up and smiled at her. “Ah, Eala, there you are. Give me a moment.” He scribbled something on a paper, then stood up and stretched. “You have no idea how much I need you tonight,” he said, coming around his desk.

“Yes, Ser, I can see that,” she replied. Indeed, his features were lined with fatigue and his mouth was set with what she knew to be pain. Others thought him overly stern, but she knew better. He had been working himself even harder than usual, and she wanted to scold him for not taking better care of himself. But that was not her place. Instead, she continued in the same professional mien “Shall we go upstairs, then?”

“After you, Healer Eala.” He gestured to the ladder leading to his loft with one hand,  a smirk lifting one corner of his mouth. Maker, he was so handsome when he did that. She thought her heart might melt at the sight of it, but she schooled her expression and climbed the ladder, proceeding immediately to a small chest on top of one of his bedside tables.

So sad and sweet

Everyone’s starter anime is death note.

I don’t count sailor moon or dbz cuz you watched those as a kid and assumed they were cartoons.

I mean when you got “into” anime fully aware of what it was and actually became immmmmmersed in this bizarre weeb culture.

It’s usually death note.

Trigun, but I did go through the Light-is-right phase until I watched Code Geass.

Outlier.

Although I guess it was naruto or Bleach for some people.

 I got you all beat. The Original Big 3. Akira, Vampire Hunter D, Ninja Scroll. And those when I was a child of 9. Death Note was WAYYYYY down the line.

What would people want to see in a Kid Inquisitor fic?

Benjamin Franklin lived his life by 13 rules which he called the 13 virtues. He made these virtues when he was 20.

My dear lgbt+ kids. 

You’re allowed to be annoyed at certain kinds of “supporters”. 

You don’t have to be grateful for “support” that makes you uncomfortable. 

This applies to: 

- the overly curious “supporters”. The ones who constantly ask you about things that are not their business. (”You’re bi? How many boys did you fuck? How many girls? Ever had a threesome? I bet you had a threesome, tell me all about it!”). You deserve better than to be reduced to your sexual history.

- the super straight “allies”. The ones who constantly need to remind you they’re straight. (”You’re gay? As a straight person, i’m cool with that. I’m a straight gay supporter. But don’t think i’m gay, i just support you, but like as a straight friend, so don’t hit on me, okay? I’m not gay myself, so i don’t want to date you, okay? I’m just a straight supporter.”) You deserve better than to be treated as a predator who hits on everyone. 

- the “allies” in theory. The ones who totally support you…. in theory.. ( “I totally support the lgbt+ community!… What, she uses he/him now? That’s ridiculous. And why would she want to go into the mens bathroom, that’s just creepy.”) You deserve better than empty words.  

- the “straight best friend”. Typically straight girls who see gay boys as a cool fashion accessory. (”You’re gay? Soooo cute! I have a gay best friend now! Hey, everyone, look at my gay best friend, isn’t he cute?”) You deserve better than to be to be collected and shown off like a exotic pet. 

- the tokenizer. The ones who use you as proof of how inclusive they are or act as if they’re special for treating you with a basic level of respect. (”I’m not transphobic, one of my friends is trans!”, “I even called you “she” in front of others today, i mean, who would do that? You’re lucky you have a friend like me.”) You deserve better than to be used to make someone else look like a good person. 

You’re not a “snowflake” for not wanting to be treated as a second-class human being. 

You’re not “greedy” for demanding genuine support respect.

Please don’t let fandom ruin something you love. Walk away and unfollow the fans and enjoy the thing by yourself, or find a limited circle of people who ignore the discourse, or get your irl friends into the thing and collectively ignore the Internet community, or blacklist from here to the moon if you need to and only ever scroll through your rarepair ship’s tag on AO3. But don’t let fandom distort a show or a movie or a book or a comic you used to love so badly that you can’t enjoy the original anymore. Please. It isn’t worth it.

This is good life advice in general. Don’t let people who are bitter and petty take the joy out of the things that make you happy. If we all chose to walk away instead of fueling that kind of toxic hatred the world would be better off for it.

Serious question, though, what happens when fandom won’t let you? What if some people in fandom create hate blogs, and visit your blogs whether they follow you or not, and then they use the same tags you do - meant to be safe tags so you can still see the things you like without having to see the hate - and the people with the hate blogs keep it up for over a year and @staff only tells you to block them and that it doesn’t qualify as harassment. Meanwhile, the person(s) behind the hate blog literally tracks what fans are doing in order to harass them and make sure the fans see as much hate about something they love as possible?

Like, you can leave them behind, but what do you do when they won’t leave you alone?

Take a step back, take a breathe, and look beyond the hate to revel in how pathetic those people are. Think of what they could do in that time that they instead waste on hate and bigoted busy work. Enjoy their ignorance and stupidity-- it's not part of the fandom. Learn to embrace that one eyebrow raised part of yourself that understand these apoplectic are beneath you
