Powerful message that lovingly includes multiple disabilities, united. I love this.

The plains spadefoot (Spea bombifrons) is toadally cute. But did you know that this stout amphibian, which inhabits arid regions of western North America, is an “explosive” breeder? Hundreds of individuals gather en masse to mate. Afterwards, females can lay as many as 2,000 eggs! These eggs might hatch in as few as two days, and the resulting tadpoles can develop rapidly, sometimes maturing in just 13 days. This species reproduces after warm heavy rains.

If you, like me, have had some very bad days lately where the despair creeps in, you might also benefit from this mantra I wrote in my journal tonight.

Dear readers,

Thank you so much for your patience. After several scans and specialist appointments, I'm scheduled for treatment for bulging discs and pinched nerves in my spine. Drawing is very painful still, but I am hoping for relief soon, and I'll be back with y'all as soon as possible.

Please send healing thoughts, Yamino

Update: I have a tentative timeline to get treatment for my spinal injury. If my insurance will hurry up and get their paperwork in order, I may be finally getting the treatment I need and recovering as soon as next week! 🤞🤞

In the meantime, I ordered a helpful little tool that should make it much easier/less painful for me to work at my desk!

It's a much cheaper knockoff of the Tourbox, but does essentially the same thing- gives me much easier reach to shortcuts I would normally need to use my keyboard for, but currently haven't been able to do without pinching my spinal cord painfully. All this to say, I am tentatively hoping to start Sister Claire regular updates again soon, maybe as soon as next week!

No, I am not 'hoarding craft supplies.' I am sourcing materials for a very big project that will be revealed to me at a later date- perhaps in a dream.

Abolish Tesla.

Elon uses his overvalued Tesla stock as collateral for all his loans.

If the stock price crashes, banks will ask for their money back.

The Twitter deal alone would break him - twitter has tanked in value, he couldn't sell it to pay off his loans.

Please, oh please. Not just well deserved karma, it would be so fucking funny.

Strongly recommend calling your reps and freaking out on the phone, both as a self care practice and so they can know that their normally chill constituents are saying things like “I guess if I can’t teach kindergarten teachers to be nicer anymore I shall have to become a bonus army”

A helpful reminder that your average Republican politician still quakes with fear when large numbers of people start asking things like “where’s my/my mom/my grandma’s social security and what are you doing to protect it?” It would be genuinely less scary for you to threaten them with violence than to politely state that you are concerned that your Korea War Veteran grandpa might not get his social security on time.

“Hi, I’m calling on behalf of a extremely sympathetic and socially conservative demographic that always votes, doesn’t have a day job and that cops cannot shoot to see if you are going to prevent them from having groceries. Thanks and have great day!” It’s like firebombing their office but totally legal and can be done from bed.
