Hello community!

Do you know of some fics with just...

Hiccstrid softness?

No matter if it's set in AUs, canon compliant or not. I just wanna see some softness.

That can be nsfw or not.

Me wanna see some softness over here.

Alright, let me go through my many, many bookmarks on AO3 . . .

Sticky Notes by Ch3rryBl0ss0m365 rated G. It's just so soft and wholesome! Mostly fluffy. And try Sticky Notes by @heathenvampires

Read anything and everything by @seagreen-meets-grey, but some recommendations to start is The Power of Vanilla Rum it's too perfect and soft and I also love And if I Fall. It's a little angsty but in a good way, kinda, and really sweet.

Cat Nap by HermitDrabbles56 is just way too adorable okay?

Also I recommend A Trilogy of Fluff, the whole series. As the name suggests, it's really, really fluffy.

Definitely give Life After They Left by @bi-bi-want-dragon a try. It's filled with lots of soft post-canon Hiccstrid stories.

Consume anything and everything written by gravitybeam. They make you squeal and kick your feet like no one else with Hiccstrid. The series Hiccstrid's arranged marriage bliss is probably exactly what you're looking for.

I keep needing to remind myself you want soft, not angst . . .

Fifteen Ways To Say I Love You by @wilderwestqueen is a gem, of course. It's not so much soft as it is fluff, but there is softness, guarenteed.

Papoutai by @slavicviking is beautiful. All of their work is, really.

I have to add Paper Tiger by Wolfie_Dragon

Do I even need to mention @introvert-dragon? I don't think I do, but I will anyways. Argh, I have too many favorites, but I think I would recommend A Hiccup of Coffee as the fluffiest and softest - or at least the least angst.

Unfortunately I can’t think of any more off the top of my head

I just heard my mom tell my brother, “when you die, you will go outside and garden until your father says you’re done” and it took me a second to realize that my brother was playing a videogame and this was not a theological discussion.

Add more info to your answer if you'd like, especially what country you live in.

I'm curious because my father always insisted I go out and jog, ride my bike, etc no matter what I was sick with or how sick but I recently learned from a long covid study that this can actually be detrimental--not just for people with covid but with any illness because the body needs ample rest so it has the energy to fight off the illness.

A few years ago, I went to an area called Bretagne (west of France). I always loved this area because It is full of history (I love History), and it clings to it's Celtic roots.

It was the first time I went on a trip completely alone. I went to the City of Saint Malo and something huge happened there. The oldest part of town is fortified (even though it took a tool during WWII) and there are fortifications near the beach.

I decided to visit one of them when the tide was low (we can access it by walking). It was interesting to learn how it worked and how useful it was.

But the best thing was a student playing the bagpipes somewhere on the walls of the town. I heard him even some ways from shore in the fort.

it was a lone musician, but the music was so beautiful and resonated throughout the entire bay. It was just a wonderful experience and I hope this young man or others will continue to do it because the mood was *Chef's kiss*

Last year, my best friend took his girlfriend to Saint Malo and he told me there was someone playing the bagpipes and that they could hear it from the exact same fort I visited a few years prior. Told me the experience was surreal and I can only agree with him.

Bretagne is one of my absolute favourite areas of France.

Bagpipes are some of my favourite music instrument and I may or may not have corrupted my nephew into loving this as well.

Also the crepes are goods. So good.

PS: also be careful if you decide to visit castles. a stone doorway will always win against your skull. I didn't know my 5'6 height would make me too tall.

This is a documented thing! It occurs most often with hearts but can happen with any transplanted organ. It's called 'cellular memory' and I wrote a whole paper on it during my freshman year of uni. It's also why some transplant recipients experience new preferences, thoughts, and sometimes behaviors their donor was known to have. Like favourite foods or drinks, subtle changes in personality (like becoming a bit more daring, etc), and more. It's usually temporary as the organ adjusts to its new person's preferences, experiences, habits, etc. It's fascinating and awesome and I would love to study it in-depth someday.

Which is why I want all of my organs upon death given to the same person. Hostile takeover from within.

I'm just trying to figure out what situation would require multiple organ transplants all at once.

Doctor: well the bad news is that all of your everything is fucked. The good news is that someone with an odd final request just died
