House 51 was on hour 16 of a 24 hour shift. Everyone was sprawled out across the house - some of the guys in the bunks, some on the app floor and the rest of you were in the common room.
Otis walks from the kitchen towards the couch, you were sitting on the one seater because Herrmann and Mouch were on the other one with Pouch between them. He looked around before turning to head to the table with the bowl of popcorn tucked under his arms.
“Otis!” you call, he stops in his tracks and turns to face you again.
“Come sit beside me,” shifting towards one side of the chair, making space for him and patting the spot next to you. His brows furrow, hesitating before taking a seat towards you.
You could feel all the eyes in the room shifting between you and Otis. There had been something between the two of you though you couldn't quite place what it was.
You had started at 51 a few months ago and when you arrived, Otis was the first one to talk to you and ask you out for a drink but as friends, of course. It seemed that you made his fluster more than anyone else for some reason.
“C’mon, I don't bite.. not unless you want me too.” you smile sweetly at the man standing across from you.
