Em was entirely floored over this conversation as a whole. First, kittens poofed into existence like fucking Cabbage Patch Kids and now Finland wasn’t real. ❝ No. Fuck no. ❞ Kae was close to causing an existential crises for the son of Poseidon, much less his Biology professor. ❝ I’m not even going to acknowledge that you said Finland isn’t a country. There’s no way it isn’t. ❞ There was too much to do with Finland for it to not be a country. He was almost positive the other was just trying to psych him out at this point.
↳ ❂ ↰ If Em thought the cat theory sounded convincing, just wait until he heard about Finland. Kaeto opened his notebook and took out a new piece of paper, deliberately drawing out the process with slow movements; after all, he needed to gather his breath so he could get through the explanation. “Alright, so,” he began, sketching out key points to support his argument. It took a few minutes, but once he got through it, he concluded with, “So, any questions, then?”

Kaeto shrugged. “There are a lot of things that aren’t good that people do anyway. Prying into a stranger’s business is another one of those things.” He also didn’t care whether or not the other revealed anything about himself, so not responding was fine with him.

Was she being too obvious? Heat briefly raises on her cheeks, while her eyes widen and she adverts her gaze from him for a moment. After a silent moment her gaze meets with his again. “Something like that, I’m hoping to do something related to that in the future, school wise and stuff.” It’d be too embaressing to promote herself per usual – a detective! Doing little things like this would be a foundation of into investigating thing she feels. “How could you tell….? Too many forward questions or something?”
↳ ❂ ↰ Most people would’ve just passed it off as a child’s curiosity, but Kaeto was anything but most people. Given her speech and assessments, it appeared to go well beyond mere curiosity--more like practice for something. Being a detective, then, as solving mysteries was a big part of the job. “Nah, I’m just observant,” he dismissed with a chuckle. She seemed quite flustered at the notion of being too obvious about her intentions. “From what I can tell, you’ll do a good job at it.”

After all, you’ve done nothing to elicit me to trust you as a confidant.” Kaeto tilted his head. “Feeling or not, still sounds like some psychic thing. If I had to guess, I’d say that between the two of us, you’re the one least like everyone else.”

Not sure what you mean by aura, unless you’re telling me you can see them or something? Pretty sure that’d make you a psychic of some sort, and that’s far more interesting than anything I can do.”

I already proved that.” Were his amazing diagram and pseudoscience not enough to convince him? “I’m sure he will after I enlighten him. He’ll know the truth soon enough.” Yup, next on Kae’s to-do list was to give his professor an existential crisis. Great. “It’s just like how Finland isn’t real, but no one talks about that either.”
