GUYSSSSS less than 24 hours to the last chapter of eagles were born to soar i’m gonna cry??? this fic is my bby and i’m so so wistful about saying goodbye… but then again, i’ve done this and i don’t regret it at all. i’m really proud of myself <3
(and honestly i would not put myself through the hell that was writing this story once more. like baby i love you but you exhausted me)
and we’re done!! this has been an amazing ride and i am so so so pleased and proud to have done it. feels just as good, if not better than i thought haha <33
thank you all for sticking with me through this -- and thank you to myself for pushing through and finishing this. i’m really excited to move on and start trying new things, but ‘eagles’ will always be super special: both as my first finished multichapter, and as possibly my longest.

summary: in one world, Hyūga Junpei’s bullheaded stubbornness loses to Kiyoshi’s dogged determination. in another, it wins. in one world, Izuki Shun kept his lips sealed and his heart locked. in another, he learns how to open them up. in one world, an eagle’s legs are chained to the stone floor. in another, it shakes off its shackles, spreads its wings out as wide as they’ll go and soars. OR, Hyūga never joins the Seirin basketball team, Izuki steps up to be captain, and everything is different.

author’s note: after months of hard work and what seems like an endless hiatus, this story’s finally back! it’s been a crazy ride, and i would never have gotten this far without all my lovely friends supporting me. particularly my sweet friend and amazing beta, @akichan-th, without whom this would still have been a mess of thoughts and ideas; and the wonderful @pun-ctual, who’s been such a great friend, powerful emotional support and a voice of reason when i got a little crazy about life xD izuki’s journey in this story has been every inch mine, too. i love every word, every punctuation mark and space in here. the process was the most amazing experience i’ve ever had - even when i felt like tearing my hair out because the characters just would not listen to me. from when i started this, back in october 2019, i’ve grown leaps and bounds as a writer; my progress makes me proud, and i’m excited for what other stories will push me towards being a better author! but now it’s time to say goodbye to ‘eagles’ - i might revisit this verse in some side stories, perhaps post some deleted scenes, but for now… it’s time that i set it free into the world. thank you for allowing me to write you.
