Okay but one thing Love, Simon did really well was like… be realistic… about why some people… stay in the closet?? When it “seems” like there’s no reason to?? Like sometimes your dad makes a distasteful comment about someone being gay, and you just sink a little. Or sometimes you think it’s something that will just go away with time. Or think I shouldn’t have to come out! Or sometimes you realize that there’s no hard cord reason and you’re just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I need aplace to vent
LORD i really wanted to like this book but the teacher i have for it is making me fucking despise it with every fiber of my being please set my on fire.
this teacher is an absolute cunt.
But I’m pretty sure we can all agree that when Drunk Simon and Drunk Bram were singing karaoke together we saw a piece of heaven
Ridiculously Relatable Things in Love, Simon
- Desperately wondering if every cute boy who gives you the slightest attention or has a mildly effeminate manner is flirting with you
- Trying to “dress gay”
- Crush on Brendon Urie
- Parents making micro aggression comments about being gay that kill you inside
- Knowing that you’ll probably be accepted if you come out but not wanting your life to change
- Literally not being able to function because you’re waiting for a boy to text you back
- Feeling like you’re holding your breath around people
simon struggling to say the word “gay”, because if he says it, it makes it real, and the word keeps dying in his throat.
a subtle thing but smth that was so incredibly relatable and tiny things like this are why i love this movie
Bram & Texts !
Bram: I’m not sure I can do this.
Martin: I’m Blue and I’m in love with Simon!
Bram: Hold my Oreos…
you get to exhale now, simon…
Alternative title for ‘Love, Simon’:
Blue’s clues
anyone: simon you need to stop assuming everyone is gay
simon: um he was literally a cute boy who was nice to me but go off i guess
I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have missed it // You get to exhale now, Simon
Love, Simon (2018)
You get to exhale now, Simon. You get to be more you than you have been in a very long time. You deserve everything you want.
