Zukka Nation, it's ACTUALLY time!

After collecting feedback via our poll and multiple conversations, we've decided to push back the dates of Zukka Week 2024. Many of you voted for a week in May/June, but the overwhelming response from creators was that more time is needed to properly create for this event, especially concurrent to other fandom projects. We will move forward with what we hope is a better timeframe for everyone interested in participating.

This should allow four and a half months for creation. Prompts will be decided through a combination of votes, community submissions, and mod choice, all the details of which will be releasing very soon <3

We will be deleting our initial post announcing the May dates, and encourage everyone who reblogged it to delete it as well and instead reblog this update. Thank you for all you do to make this year's Zukka Week successful!

This blog/event does not have an official Discord server or similar platform, but if any part of Zukka Nation does, feel free to share in the notes. :)

Thank you for reaching out! Late submissions will be accepted for at least a month after Zukka Week 2024 concludes, after which this account will no longer be regularly monitored. The tag to use on Tumblr is #zukkaweek2024, and we will be creating an AO3 collection as the date draws nearer.

Prompt voting is open!

Hello Zukka Nation! After sorting through your many wonderful submissions of prompt ideas old & new, we're excited to open up voting! Using this Google form, you can vote for your top 5 favorite prompts from each category: prompts never used before, and prompts used during previous Zukka Weeks. Voting will remain open until midnight, March 28 GMT-8.

Once voting closes, the mods will create an official prompt list from the highest-voted prompts! We are aiming for roughly 7 old prompts and 7 new prompts, with two prompts per day; depending on this poll's results, final ratios might be different. We can't wait to see what you choose! Record Scratch — Poll Time!

Hello Zukka Nation! Thank you for all the enthusiasm for Zukka Week 2024. We got lots of feedback from you guys that the dates we announced (May 12-18) were too early for many creators in the fandom, especially with prompts not finalized yet. I (Mod Ares @winged-paki) take full responsibility for that - the other fandom events I run and enjoy operate at incredibly breakneck speeds, so I thought this timeframe was sufficient. But if it's not what the people want, it's not what we'll do.

So, to get a proper sense of public opinion...

Note: Late May or beyond mid-August is not an option for the mod team.

This poll is set to run for a week, but if a clear winner or trend emerges before it closes, we will proceed with that. Once the dates for Zukka Week are selected, we will spend about a week crowdsourcing prompt suggestions and a few days finalizing the prompt list.
