could i maybe request damien (mind-reading) hearing the self deprecating (passively suicidal maybe?) thoughts of the mc when they're going through a depressive episode? thoughts like "i'm useless/worthless" "i'm ugly" or "i'm just a burden" things like that? i've been very well mentally for a while now! but i've definitely had times where i feel these things. you don't have to post this ask if you feel it would be triggering to others, but if you feel comfortable with this i'd appreciate it!

“You don’t really feel that way, do you?”
Glancing toward the door, you didn’t even have to ask Damien what it was he had heard in your thoughts that prompted his question. You furrowed your brows, wondering why he had bothered to seek you out after hearing something so crude and depressive.
“Isn’t it obvious?” Damien’s question was accented by his first step forward into the room. “It’s because I care about you.”
You couldn’t stop the little, self-depreciating scoff from leaving your throat. “I’m not anything special to care about.”
“I beg to differ,” Damien argued, his voice ever soft.
Slowly, he made his way to your side at the window sill. You took this as your chance to stare back out the window, your eyes filling with the sunset over the horizon. You knew Damien was looking at you instead, reading your thoughts and trying to figure out what he could say.
“You are the best thing to ever happen,” he started. “To me and to my brothers. Why is that so hard to see?”
He gave you time to mull over your answer, watching and listening as thoughts tumbled through your mind and rearranged himself. You knew, from Damien, there was no way you could hide all the ugly comments and sarcastic detriments that were filling your brain, but you still took the effort to arrange them in the least offending way possible.
“I just… I can’t figure out why anybody would like me,” you finally said after a while, turning away from the setting sun.
Your eyes met his and you could see the reflection of the horizon in them, red hues and golden rays mingling within his gaze. They seemed to smoulder more than they ever did before in this moment.
“I will prove how special you are to us. To me.” He held your gaze, voice the surest you had ever heard it before. “One day. I swear to you.”
