I reblogged this last year and I hung out with blink-182 backstage on March 30. Reblogging again because it worked the first time.

$50,000 immediately dropped into my bank account wouldn't improve EVERYTHING but boy it sure would be a grand, sexy little start to a good, happy life path, don't you think

Reblog for unexpected $$$ dropping into your Bank account.

Ugghh that alternate reality angst tho!! It's too good! Like I screamed when I saw Sven take that shot for Lance and I just wanna see more of him! Do you have any headcannons about that alternate reality Shance? Like I love what you did with Lance being older and having Sven admire him

I KNOW RIGHT?? I lost my mind when I saw Sven show up and even more so when he protected Lance ;A; That beautiful man!

Hmm, well I love the idea of young!Sven having a crush on Lance, who’s more of a star pilot like he was in the original cartoon and more chill and willing to tease poor Sven. But Lance is Lance no matter what reality it is and so he’s still more than capable of being insecure and I’m sure he’s shown that side of him to Sven, which Sven found even more endearing. He wanted to support Lance as best he could, but in the end he just couldn’t.  It wasn’t until I was halfway through drawing that I saw @sir-scandalous post about Sven and how his Lance could be dead by the Alteans, which could be another reason why he harbors such hatred towards them. ;;

I read something this morning that really resonated with me.

Maybe it’s the fandom, maybe it’s the people.

But back when I was between the ages of 12 and 14 I wrote my first few stories and posted them online. Looking back they were terrible abominations of writing, and should anyone come to me and ask if I wrote them I would deny all knowledge whilst sweating profusely.

And yet despite the atrocity of my first few fanfictions there was a plethora of feedback from readers. ‘Write more!’ ‘I really liked this.’ ‘Loved the ending!’ ‘Look forward to more from you’.

There was constructive feedback and insight as well as the views/likes.

People took an active interest in your words and communicated back to you.

Nowadays as a writer it feels like I’m shouting into the void.

By simply liking a post I understand that you have seen the piece exists. Most often I assume it’s that you’ve saved it to read later, or are merely acknowledging its existence. I have no idea if you read it or not, much less if you enjoyed it.

When you reblog artwork you essentially tell the artist that yes, you liked the piece. You liked it enough to spend an extra few moments putting it onto your own personal space on the web. If you tag it you explicitly communicate how you feel. It’s rare that you would simply like a piece of art, especially if its from your fandom. You want to share it so others can see it and enjoy it.

But most of you wont do that with fanfiction.

It takes a lot of time to learn to write. It takes a lot of time to write. Writers suffer the same periods of art block, or writer’s block as it’s known to us. We don’t struggle with drawing hands. We struggle with writing what that hand is doing in a way that is engaging. Instead of struggling drawing furniture and rooms and backgrounds we struggle to construct the same image but with our words.

It’s all relative. Our plight is no harder or easier than an artist but we do not get the same level of appreciation or recognition that an artist does.

In the end what you get is the same thing. An image on your screen. The difference is you have to look a little harder to see what we’ve painted for you.

So please. Tell the author that you saw it.

We love words. They are our craft. So give us some back.

Reblog a fanfic and get it out there so more people can enjoy it.  Please.

I know I’ve reblogged this like thirteen times recently but it is just so, so important

This is so important to a writer, especially those who don’t feel confident in their works. You guys have no idea the impact it has on me when you reblog my writing and even leave comments. It sends my heart beating a mile a minute and a sense of happiness that lasts forever.

People talk a lot about how you should write for yourself and not for others, but there’s only that much truth to that — you write things you want to write for yourself, yes, but in the end, it can’t exist without feedback.  Negative reactions can, when phrased to be constructive, have a huge positive impact on someone’s writing ability.

I appreciate you reading my writing even when you don’t like or reblog, that’s completely out of question. But it always feels special when I see that maybe, something I came up with resonated enough with someone for them to deem it worth sharing.

Yes. Out of all the words that exist… YES.

This is so true, and kind of sad if you think about it. There’s so much effort put into writing and people just never seem to care. It’s sad, and a bit discouraging, too.

THIS HAS BEEN SPAMMED ON MY DASH AGAIN THIS HOLIDAY SEASON AND IT’S HAD SO MUCH ADDED TO IT I JUST WANNA SAY HOW SORRY I AM THAT THERE ARE SO MANY WRITERS OUT THERE WHO FEEL THE SAME AS THIS

BUT YA’LL LOVED AND APPRECIATED. WE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER GUYS. JUST REMEMBER. YOUR WRITING IS VALID EVEN IF NO ONE SHOWS IT TO YOU. KEEP WORKING HARD. YOU WILL BREAK THROUGH SOMEDAY. EVEN IF IT’S TO ONE SINGLE PERSON. YOUR WRITING MATTERS TO SOMEONE.

AMEN TO YA’LL.
