I think we, as a general community, need to start taking this little moment more seriously.

This, right here? This is asking for consent. It’s a legal necessity, yes, but it is also you, the reader, actively consenting to see adult content; and in doing so, saying that you are of an age to see it, and that you’re emotionally capable of handling it.

You find the content you find behind this warning disgusting, horrifying, upsetting, triggering? You consented. You said you could handle it, and you were able to back out at any time. God I keep forgetting how long Arthur was still just a prince.

And also, that grin of his, that dopey smile, that's the one I base pining Arthur on in my stories. He is baby. He is desperate and so proud of himself for having these funny little bits with Merlin. It's pathetic, I love him.

this scene reminded of this post, because merlin could've tried to push his hand away, could've simply not raised his own hand, because realistically he's been given time to explain. and yet. his hand is up. in a way that would allow him to use magic, because instincts are instincts are instincts. of course, it could be looked at in a different way, but to me? to me it's a special little detail
