THE ONES WHO LIVE | The Last Time (1.06)
I've figured out after my 3rd watch that the finale is even better once you embrace TOWL for the limited series that the showrunners always intended it to be. All these months, I've been viewing this spin-off as an expansion of the TWD universe, wondering how the CRM storyline fits into the broader "cinematic universe" that AMC is trying to create, and trying to tease out what that could mean Richonne in the future. Really, I should have just listened to showrunners from the start. Cuz while they have obviously left the door open for a potential return, it's clear to me now that this was never about launching a new big bad or TWD's next phase; The Ones Who Live was always meant to be a fond farewell to Rick and Michonne Grimes.
Andrew Lincoln, Scott Gimple, and Danai Gurira knew that the only tale left to tell in the legend of Rick Grimes was this love story. As someone who has loved and followed these characters for well over a decade, I am so blown away by that. And so grateful!

Ya’ll kill me talking about the “ethics” of irl shipping when you’re out here mining the tags for self insert fan fics about your faves.
Like, generally speaking, I’m very “live and let live” when it comes fandom—I don’t judge—but when you fix your fingers to shame people for speculating and fantasizing about the private lives of public figures—when you’re doing the same shit in fic form? That’s extremely fucked up.
It is one thing to call out individuals for violating someones privacy—it’s another thing entirely to shit on people for fangirling over irl ships when you’re writing/reading/sharing fan fic that reduces actual human beings to wank/fap fuel. The PFLAG-BTQI(+): Parents & Friends of Lesbians and Gays-Bi-Trans-Queer Identified (+) groups are so empowering and inspiring and necessary. Whether your “kid” is 10 years old or going into their 50s, do not abandon them like rubbish on the curb. They are not dirt, nor disgusting, not going to hell or whatever nonsensical, toxic rhetoric is poured into your ears or blasted at you on some cable network “news” or “faith based” network. These are your kids and friends. Others from everywhere can give them support, but the support, love and ACCEPTANCE from a parent, guardian, sibling or closest friend carries the most treasured and vital importance. I say ACCEPTANCE, not tolerate. Tolerate means ‘put up with something/someone you don’t care for or despise or find despicable’. We tolerate taxes, or traffic or someone swiping a french fry off your plate (even that has limits tho. 😅). But you’re supposed to, and should unconditionally love, care for and protect the people that you, well, love regardless of how the identify, & what they look like. It’s not quantum physics, folks. 🏳️🌈💗💜💙💯✨
