Hello! This is a Pixar blog. My name's Joanna and I think Pixar is really great. I'm from Scotland. I'm a co-writer for the Pixar Planet news blog Upcoming Pixar and manage the Pixar Planet tumblr (full of Pixar news and opinion pieces). I also work in wildlife and conservation and it's more stressful than you'd think. In fact I'm barely here anymore but expect updates whenever new Pixar news/movies come out.

do you know what's going on with elio at all? I think it was set to release in march but I haven't seen anything from pixar about it since then

I think it's been delayed to next year! So Inside Out 2 this June, Elio in June 2025. Which is a shame but I'd rather they delay something and get it right than rush it

I saw Luca at the cinema today and there's something so healing about finally having seen all the pandemic-straight-to-disney+ pixar movies on the ~big screen

We've come full circle! I wish these cinema releases for Turning Red and Soul and Luca had gotten more attention (in Scotland at least it didn't seem to draw a big audience) but I'm SO happy they did it and I got to experience them all in a different way!

I'm going to see Soul today at a sketchy lookin cinema because nowhere else is showing it except for a really limited time at the weekend and I'm working

Why would my local cinema only show it as a kids screening at like 10am?? I don't think kids will even like it that much. It's arguably the least kiddy Pixar movie there is

anyway wish me luck

I survived

It was the weirdest cinema I've ever been to

Only two other people were in the screen with me. I got a hot chocolate and they served it to me in a mug

There was a seat facing away from the screen

But it was great! Honestly I feel like Soul has suffered from being in a horrible 2020 haze. Revisiting it made me realise it's better than I remembered. And I remembered it being top tier. So.

Go watch Soul in cinemas!! Even if it's a weird cinema!!

I love everything about this still.

  1. Look at Fear's silly pen. what is he thinking
  2. He looks SO proud of himself
  3. His friends are so supportive of Fear and his new (?) pen

Just saw Turning Red and Kitbull at the cinema!!

I honestly feel like Turnjng Red is one of the most well rounded Pixar movies. Like some Pixar movies start great and then end a bit weird or vice versa. But Turning Red is so perfectly crafted. One of the best.

And Kitbull is also completely wonderful obvs

So worth seeing them at an actual cinema! STUNNING. I'm so happy
