fuck it, I'm romanticizing underrated ao3 works now. 8,000 word fics with only 13 kudos, even after 5 months. multi-chaptered works with only 11 comments from the same 3 people and the author themself. incredibly specific works featuring OC's mingling with canon characters that only get 5 kudos. rare-pair fics. gift works that are literally ONLY for the receiver.

right now on earth there’s a kindly old stray tomcat who just got adopted and he’s receiving enough food to fill his belly for the first time in his entire life and he’s so so so happy and he doesn’t even know that it’s going to be like this forever :)

I see a lot of positivity posts saying things like "you're not less intelligent/capable/productive if you struggle with xyz" and they're often right! But some people genuinely ARE less intelligent. Some people ARE less capable. Some people ARE less productive. And we don't have to be considered intelligent or productive or capable to be worthy, valuable, good people!

Fun fact: Slitted pupils only give you an advantage when your eyes are just a few inches above the ground. They help you focus on small and close up prey in the horizontal plane. That’s why they’re primarily found in animals like snakes, foxes, cats and reptilians.

Round pupils don’t work as well when they’re that close to the ground, they’re more suited for hunting larger things that are also further away than pouncing distance, which is why larger predators like tigers and humans got them.

But that doesn’t mean your cat person character or whatever, needs round pupils, it just means it is implied that they mostly hunt small animals and that they look like this while doing so:
