I have a dog who is unfortunatly severely dog aggressive and the "Pet Corrector" stops him in his tracks! It's a great distraction and has worked wonders. I hope , if you end up getting it, that it works for you! :D

Thank you so so very much for your help and suggestions. Definitely going to give it a try.

I know it might be exspensive, but hiring a dog trainer might help? Are the fights over possessions? Give treats and praise when they are together and not fighting. If you feel comfortable with them being at a distance and leashed that's cool as long as you or your partner dont feel any anxiety. Also, there are these loud air cans at petco or petsmart you can use to diffuse the two with a loud hissing sound if you feel that tension between the two is building up.

We’ve been talking about and looking into a trainer or dog behavioralist. I wouldn’t say it’s entirely toy aggression that sets it off, but kind of. The Aussie is a normal, bratty little guy and he wants all the attention and doesn’t always love to share. We were trying to get him to share more and sometimes they would and would fetch a stick together or play tug with a rope nicely and it was great. I think the Aussie, Hemlock, just realized that the Newfie, Cubby, is now bigger than him and he’s upset about it. When playing Cubby the Newf sometimes will now run beside him and put his head over Hemlock the Aussie, and hemlock does not like it so he gets bratty and nippy and Cubby is so strong now he will push him down and lay on him or grab his scruff and hold him still just to keep him from nipping. But hemlock doesn’t stop trying to nip so Cubby doesn’t want to let him go. It looks so scary but they never actually injure each other, Cubby just wants to make him stop being bratty. Right now they haven’t seen each other since the scuffle. I separated them with a baby gate. They seriously will even go on walks together and be totally fine with each other, it’s just these two recent times when their playing just took a turn.

It’s sort of funny because the Aussie hates water and the Newfie loves water so usually if I notice them getting tension I will spray them with a hose or squirt bottle and that has helped but I might have to try the loud noise thing because Cubby will run away from loud noises like thunder or gunshots.

My dogs got in another fight today. I’m so upset. Both times it started with them playing and then one got mad and then the fight began. They haven’t inflicted injuries on each other but it looks so awful and idk what to do now to get them to stop this.

After their first scuffle, I separated them and slowly let them play together while supervised by both me and my partner but kept them apart when we weren’t actively watching them. I still wasn’t ready for them to be 100% back together all the time yet but my partner thought it would be ok for them to be in the yard together while he was on a phone call and I was up stairs with cramps. While he was distracted, the dogs were playing with a ball and then got into it.

I’m so upset. They loved each other so much but now I’m worried if they will ever be back to that again. I don’t know what to do.
