Real answer: because Robert Rodriguez’s experience working with Tarantino lead to him developing a way to make movies with essentially no budget AND made him a lot of friends in Hollywood, plus he was making these movies specifically for his kids and had such an infectious energy about it, he was a joy to work with and those big-name actors did it almost for free.

So, basically, they did it for fun. Is that it?

Yeah, and because it was very little work, the movies were shot in record time almost entirely on greenscreen.

#i don’t wan to be Too Deep with this#but i always liked this little moment#because Warner is trying to imply that marilyn is a lesser woman than jackie#as if all women are one of two things. and one of those things is ‘better’#but elle seems confused because she just sees them as two women#or at least doesn’t see why marilyn would be ‘worth’ less than jackie#or something like that#and therefore their main difference comes down to something simple#something dumb#and her mind concludes it must be#their hair color#and that might not be what the scene was trying to do at all#but that’s how i see it so#….#legally blonde#elle woods said marilyn deserves just as much respect as jackie (via @kaiayame​)

We talk about hand-eye coordination, but in Sawamura and Miyuki’s case, it’s their eyes that bring about that coordination. Always speaking volumes with just one look, coordinating their calls/pitches to bring about those perfect strikes! 

I really do love these moments where Sawamura shines as a pitcher. Especially when the opponents, and sometimes even the crowd, underestimate him. And when he does pitch - they are never prepared for what the encounter. Satisfying moments indeed!

And as a bonus, we get to see Sawamura looking like a badass while he’s in the zone:
