Humans Are Weird
Imagine an alien species that has never seen twins before or had any cases of multiple births at one time. Or better yet they have never seen multiple births where the offspring are physical and genetically exactly the same.
“So, this is the Human Steven?”
“Yes.”
“Yes.”
“And he is not the Human Nate?”
“Yes.”
“Yes.”
“And the Human Steven is the nest mate of the Human Nate?”
“What?”
“He means sibling. And yes. Does that make sense?”
“No. Why does the Human Steven look like the Human Nate?”
“Because we came from the same egg, genetically we’re the same person.”
“A human can divide their eggs to replicate the offspring…?”
“I think we’re losing him.”
“No, no, it’s fine. Corvix, this is not something intentional. Sometimes it just happens.”
“Yeah, it happened to Mom twice.”
“What…”
“Corvix, don’t freak out, we have a third brother.”
*Brings in third identical sibling*
“Corvix, this is my youngest brother Daniel.”
“Stop saying that I’m only six minute behind you.”
“…”
“Corvix, are you okay?”
“But this is the Human Nate.”
“We lost him.”
