Art for Paper Legends 2013
My assigned writer was reverie_indigo, who wrote a story called A Lantern in the Dark. The summary is below, go check it out :)
Pairings: Merlin/Arthur, Merlin/Percival, Merlin/Gwaine, Arthur/Gwen, Hunith/Other, Gaius/Alice (implied)
Summary: Canon-era, around the same time as S5. Tired, frustrated, and lonely, Merlin has spent nearly a decade as a servant pining after Arthur and made little progress in achieving Albion & restoring magic, while Arthur’s powers of denial are failing regarding Merlin’s secrets, and their relationship is fraying. Merlin seeks comfort and happiness in the ample arms of Percival, but can anyone really measure up to Arthur? Meanwhile, Morgana is catching onto Merlin too, and is carefully planning an assault meant to overwhelm even Emrys. Merlin’s distraction and lack of direction could have terrible consequences when Morgana makes her move final move...
The first illustration is Merlin in his fancy new jacket, the second is a touching scene between Merlin and Percival at Lancelot's empty seat at the Round Table. This was really fun to do, especially drawing the jacket! Props to reverie_indigo for the image. ;)
