My mom keeps telling my family members that they don't need to come to see my professional stage manager debut because "she's not actually in it" which is what she told them for the whole opera I fucking directed all by myself so I'm firing back with "everyone came to see La Boheme when I was just in the chorus and barely onstage, and I'm doing way more work for this one"
But now I actually have a line so I am technically in it (even if it's just shouting "Figaro!" from offstage) so her point is moot anyway
Things that have been going on with me lately, in a few words:
Trying the Curly Girl method now versus trying it five years ago (oh my god my sophomore year at dpu was five years ago wtf) is so totally different Probably because this time I'm putting effort into making sure it actually works instead of letting my depression using it as an excuse not to shower for a week But also because I went and got a DevaCut and everything and I'm totally jumping on board instead of just not shampooing and I actually feel really confident even though I'm four days in and my hair is a greaseball I just feel like I'm finally taking my hair destiny into my own hands and out of the hands of my straight-haired family Maybe one day I'll stop pretending to be straight inside too
Today I made the trek to Quest Bookshop in Wheaton, which I have never been to before but now highly recommend. It's a calming, spacious place, and also has a pretty good selection of crystals for a little suburban shop (and the prices were pretty excellent too). I found myself drawn to a smoky elestial quartz, which I've never worked with before. As soon as I picked it up I felt like I was about to start crying, and it took a little while for me to realize why. I closed my eyes and could feel it whispering, "it's okay, I'm here, I've got you, you don't have to worry anymore." It was calling up my feelings of instability and insecurity and putting them at ease so rapidly that I nearly started sobbing in the middle of the store! So obviously it had to come home with me. I also picked up a lovely lepidolite that I will absolutely be wrapping soon, and a really soothing labradorite bracelet. If I remember I'll have to post pictures of my finds!
Things I'd forgotten to post: A month or so ago, I threw out my back. It sucked. I texted my fiance about it right when it happened, but he was at work. Apparently only a few minutes after I threw mine out, he threw out his. When I went to see him that night, he said, and I quote: "I'm twenty percent sure you're a witch." To which I replied, "Only twenty percent?"
Alright. Y’all know how this works. That’s $1100 right there.

My cat doesn't understand batting toys around. She doesn't do it. She takes her toys and sniffs them, licks them, and sits down next to them. If we really annoy her with one, she'll knock it around for a little, but that's it. Which is why I'm so confused right now. I took a relatively large quartz point and put it on the floor, and she came right over to it and started playing with it! I'm talking pouncing on it, batting it around, laying on the floor and kicking it up with her hind legs, etc. My cat is an enigma.

Hello everyone, This is my sweet kitty Minerva. She's currently in the animal hospital with a fever of unknown origin. We adopted her two weeks ago today, and she'll be turning seven on April 18. Obviously we want her to get better as soon as possible, but we're starting to worry she won't get better at all. If this is something you do, please please please send her love, prayers, energy, good thoughts, healing spells, any or all of the above. She's a sweetie who stole our hearts right away, and I don't know what I'd do without her. Thank you for reading
