One of Darcia’s most prevalent abilities is her passive ability to soothe. This skill is entirely sub-conscious, and she has no idea that she is doing it. She calms people just by being present - anxiety, anger and many other troubling moods are dulled by her presence, and eventually disperse the longer she stays near that particular person. This also applies to animals and other creatures.
An example of this is with her father, Dirthamen. When she is around him, he no longer hears the constant whispering of secrets that barrage him on a daily basis and he gets to enjoy what he truly loves and craves - Silence.
Another prominent example is Harellin. Darcia and Harellin’s abilities are essentially on the different ends of the same spectrum. Harellin’s dread will drive any person exposed in the vicinity to madness, if left unchecked. Darcia’s presence around Harellin is an effective counterbalance and they negate each other, Harellin does not need to have such a tight grip on his emotions. Therefore, he is granted a reprieve from smoking, even if it is for just a short amount of time.
Darcia is also capable of withstanding Harellin’s dread, but that is another ability for another headcanon post.
