A/n: Sorry for answering this so late. School has been kicking my butt and this is definitely not my best. I hope you like it, though.
Crazy things had happened, but Barney could still remember every single word.
There weren’t many things he liked to think of that belonged to that part of his life, but these did. The words had kept him alive, they were the only thing worth remembering. Better than the padded cell, better than the darkness, better than the cries he didn’t want to hear anymore, even if they were still stuck in his head, coming out at night when he didn’t need them at all. Sleep was important, he didn’t want to miss out on it because of something like this. He didn’t need this voices anymore, he had a future now. Tommy had found a job for him and he was back where he belonged.

It’s time for the Garrison Fest!
Prepare for some weeks full of amazing fanworks!
Here we are! Maybe you’ve already prepared your pens, pencils and other things you need, maybe you are gonna improvise … but this or that way, amazing that you’re here too!
What this fest is about: Every week there’ll be a prompt list with different types of prompts. Starting today (January 4), going on for 8 weeks! Share your amazing ideas and talk about what you came up with with others!
Prompt types:
- Topic prompt: one word prompt, a trope or something similar
- Art prompt: a famous or not so famous painting that might help your imagination
- Character prompt: characters some people might forget about, but they’re there and might help you to tell interesting stories
- Ship prompt: a rare pair (romantic or platonic) that might deserve more fanworks, if you’re interested in a challenge
- Peaky quote prompt: wise words
- Lyrics prompt: sometimes songs can be very inspiring
- Gif prompt: many aesthetically pleasing scenes from the show
Allowed:
- gen works
- rare pairs
- character x reader
- canon character x OC
Not allowed:
- every ship with more than 100 works for it on AO3: Tommy/Alfie and Tommy/Grace at the moment
- incest ships
Please tag your fics properly, especially if there are any topics that might require a warning. Decide on your own what is important aside from the archive warnings on AO3.
How to participate:
- Look at the week’s prompt list and choose a prompt (or maybe more than one) you wanna create for!
- Create your fanwork.
- Post it on AO3 and/or on Tumblr.
- On AO3: You can add your fic to this collection if you want!
- On Tumblr: You can use #garrisonfest2020 !
You don’t have to create something every week to have fun!
Some words of encouragement:
- Feel free to try something new! Never wrote for a certain character or prompt? Maybe you’ve never created something for OCs or reader inserts and would like to try? This is your chance!
- You have an idea for a story that might be a little bit longer and take you more than some weeks? See this fest as a chance to start creating what you wanna create! No need to rush, even a first step can be amazing!
- Never tried writing something short, maybe a one shot or a poem? Never drew something for the fandom? Never created a playlist? There are many kinds of fanwork!
- Wanna do something crazy and combine some prompts from the list for the week? Go for it!
- Maybe you’re thinking about a collab? It can be so much fun to work together with someone else. You can write together or maybe one of you draws something and the other one writes, but you might also have a totally different idea!
- Interested in the works other people create? Let them know if you enjoyed them with kudos, comments, likes and reblogs! Maybe you can even make new friends that way and come up with even more ideas together!
- Wanna thank a mutual for being a lovely person in your life? You might consider gifting a work you create to them!
