i saw the post before you deleted it about being competitive. it's kind of funny to me cause i ended up being very envious of the success you got for one character from another fandom (before realizing that was silly) to the point of it making me really sad. it put things in perspective to see that you felt that way too or that it bothers you too.
Oh man really?! (I’m curious as to which one, esp as it’s not from the HP fandom, I find when I do RP’s from non-HP it’s VERY hit and miss). But I strive to be honest and realistic with you guys with this kind of stuff, I’m not a “hold hands and sing around the campfire” sort of person.
My dear anon I could almost guarantee you I’m one of the most competitive people here, @notanotherweasley @pighmypuff, @egdramaqueen and others can ALL attest to that.
I get jealous, I get petty, I vent to my friends, and they tell me to stop being a dick. That’s pretty much my creative process.
My competitiveness is what helps drive me. I’ll admit, I’m a hyper-critical person, I look at other RP’s and think “Okay, but I think it should be like this,” or “They need to do this,” or “This bit is wrong,” but people work hard on their stuff, and don’t deserve to be ripped to shreds by some asshole who thinks they can do better (It’s me, I’m the asshole.) So, instead of telling them, I take those shitty, pedantic criticisms and apply them to my own work on that character. You just need to learn to channel that energy into improving your own work rather than tearing another person down. If you’re gonna be a dick, be a dick to yourself. Probably not the best coping method but it’s served me well so far.
Failing that, just find a friend who’s gonna tell you when you’re being an absolute cockwobble. They’re the best.
To be honest, I like it when youre a dick.... so.....

This show is the epitome of “I’m an asshole because I’m better than you” and so many people used it to justify their behavior, and it finally addressed the fact that that’s not the case but instead the reality is “I’m an asshole because I’m immature and can’t take care of myself mentally or emotionally” and of course assholes are gonna cry about it. Because, again, they are immature and can’t handle their emotions.
This monologue is a prime example of “Sometimes if someone’s advice pisses you off it’s because they’re right and you know that applies to you.”
