…I literally said it was my OPINION… I cannot with some people. This is exactly the type of people that make others not want to play this game.

Like, I understand healer dps is a needed thing in end game savage content. Healers should absolutely dps where they can in any type of content, but healing should be their priority. It’s their job.

Like myself and the other person were simply having a conversation as I didn’t understand a meme they posted about Enhanced Freecure… didn’t get why people would think that’s scary, as I would find it incredibly useful.

To come in and literally be RUDE and tell me I’m doing it wrong, when most of the content I run I don’t even get to USE Thin Air as my synced level is too low… is fucking bullshit.

I’m a great healer and a great tank, I’m not going to change how I do either. The way I do things works for regular dungeons, trials, raids, AND the end game content I’ve done. I’m not the one that gets us wiped if and when (usually a when in end game stuff) that happens.

Like get off your high horse, I believe you’re on it backwards.

You know they have a class for this... I think they called them “Damage Dealers” you know cause they DEAL DAMAGE!

The only thing that healer should be doing outside of healing is debuffing. I have had to many instances where the tank was fine, healer was spamming attacks and tank suddenly took a huge amount of damage and no healer was able to target and heal in time before he died. All spells take time to cancel full and start to cast the next. In these full raids you should want your healer concentrating on healing and maybe debuffing.. not Damage dealing.

And If you have a healer that can spam cure 1, keep their mp up and keep the entire party alive... who the fuck care how they are doing it?! If they can sit there and bitch about a healer you aren’t doing your damn job in the raid ass hat.. go back to dpsing.

Hey this is what we do currently in our shitty house and I’m not joking when I say it works really well! The “fan” capabilities are greatly reduced but it works well as a purifier

As I read MDZS by MXTX, I am struck by how grateful I am for the way The Untamed decided to handle the story. They looked at the homophobia and said “you know what? No. No thank you.” They altered Wei Wuxian’s character a little - not to change who he fundamentally is as a person - but they improved him, made him more like-able. MDZS Wei Wuxian makes me feel quite a bit of secondhand embarrassment on multiple occasions, but CQL Wei Wuxian? We owe it to the scriptwriters, director and of course Xiao Zhan for creating a character you cannot help but feel an enormous amount of affection for. Furthermore, MXTX handled the romance in some instances like a straight woman’s fantasy of an MLM couple. MDZS Lan Wangj’s demeanor feels like he wants to own Wei Wuxian at times, with a possessive streak that is in no way something to be romanticised. CQL Lan Wangji? Wang Yibo, thank you endlessly for the soft, deeply emotional and loving character you created. Wang Yibo somehow managed to convey a repressed gay teenager who’s experiencing those new, terrifying feelings of a first love. The yearning is palpable; the longing and self-restraint, all portrayed effortlessly with minuscule facial expressions. Xiao Zhan’s Wei Wuxian’s love for Lan Wangji is similarly restrained for other reasons. The show took censorship and made it work for them. Novel WangXian’s confession is not only absurd, but also highlights much of what is so off about the novel’s portrayal of their romance. It might seem odd to criticise the original source material in this way: the story is MXTX’s creation after all.  To summarise, I think that CQL is the most valid adaptation that has and will ever exist.

This entire post! I have gotten into so many arguments with I would guess you could call them the ‘purest’ who view the CQL as inferior to the novel and even the dongue, that openly attack those fans that prefer the live action.

I will admit, I came from the CQL to the novel and dongue.. and i’m really glad I did. If I had come into contact with the Novel or dongue first, I never would have even watched the live action. As you said, Wei Wuxian is not that likable, the dongue version is worse. I got to the tortoise of slaughter and just... couldn’t anymore. Not only was the pacing horrible but Wei Wuxian was completely unlikable, the amount of second hand embarrassment was near constant every episode. The final straw for me personally was in the middle of being trapped in the cave Lan Wangji just BIT HIM. Like.. Where in the flying fuck did that come from?! That was a line drive from left field that just hit you upside the head. He wasn’t drunk, wasn’t anything.. just leaned over and bit him hard. What made it worse was when I got to that point in the novel... it was actually part of the original book. It was out of character...

The “extra” Chapters, you can tell it was written by someone with very little knowledge of same sex..well..sex. It read like her main knowledge came from Adultff.net. They were.. not pleasant to read at all, very painful to get through. The Incense burner chapter, that is where I figuratively put the book down and never picked it up again.

While the CQL was unable to delve into the romantic aspect due to censorship, the actors, director and writers did an absolutely wonderful job. They were still able to tell the deep love story, in a way that made it all the more real to the characters themselves. The silent longing looks of Lan Zhan, to the more open adoring looks of Wei Wuxian. We didn’t need the open confessions, the painful extra chapters... the love story was told in such a beautiful way I feel that if they did any more it would have ruined it.

Yes the CQL isn’t perfect, but compared to all the other adaptations and the original novel, the CQL feels the most realistic.

ooc;

so i recently acquired the game data for ffvii:re after much hairpulling and now i can poke around in the files at my leisure and extract what i want when i want…a number of interesting things are to be found there, several i noticed at first glance were relating to the naming conventions used for character data

specifically, pertaining to tseng there was this

image

many fans have commented about how tseng seems to look exactly the same in the flashback as in present, about how ageless he must be since the new ultimania places him at thirty. but he isn’t listed as the oft theorized fifteen in this model name, he is listed as nineteen (similarly the cowgirl tifa model has her age listed at thirteen, which seems to imply either discrepancies on an internal development level regarding the chronology or just that the remake uses a floating timeline period)

initially, i assumed this might be the same model we see in the cutscene, identical to the regular model. but it isn’t. they actually have a young tseng model in the game data that they didn’t even use in the game, and here he is

he shares almost all the features of standard tseng aside from the new hair mesh, but it is still an interesting bit of unseen yet existing content. why was he cut? was it due to technical implementation issues or did they decide to just go a different direction? was this an error and it is possible he will be patched into future updates? are the seemingly incorrect ages listed on so many of the character models conclusive proof that remake takes place in a floating timeline or is sqex just confused? we may never know, but it is fun to analyze

We... were denied this!! WTH!
