“Perhaps next time we can arrange for you to come along. You’re usually in good spirits when you’re with him. Seeing your friends might cheer you up,” Haldir offered, putting his arms around Celebrian with a sigh.

“I’m afraid I will have to address him, else I be seen as rude. I don’t think that would go over well.”

Celebrían gave him a pout. He wasn’t taking her seriously.

“Just ignore Thranduil when you go to the Greenwood, okay?” If anyone could steal haldir from her, it was Thranduil.

Now the marchwarden was entirely perplexed.

“Ignore Thranduil? I have to deliver news directly to him. Not that he’d let anyone ignore him anyhow.”

Haldir went over to Celebrian at seeing the look on her face, gently running fingers through her hair. “Why, did you two have an argument?”

“Because there is opportunity for cross training between our forces while I am there,” Haldir watched Celebrian’s expression carefully, kissing her forehead.

blank ice blue eyes glanced briefly in the direction of his fellow ranger, from where he was sorting out their supplies. after a moment, he refocused and let a tired snort escape. "No reason to.. stay, not anymore..."

Hal side eyed the Shire raised elf, having just finished mending some of their torn clothing. "And Haldir isn't a reason?" His question was mild, letting him decide whether he wanted to answer or not.

"Haldir will always.. be a reason.. to stay, be.. it here or.. in Arda... It's just.. I've never told.. him that..." Taenil admitted softly, unaware it would get back to the marchwarden through a listening elf.

“There you are, I’ve been looking for you.” Relief fell over the marchwarden as he finally laid eyes upon the ranger. He had gotten back late from patrol, and hoped that he would be able to get back in time.

“I see everyone is getting ready to journey on,” Haldir began, trying to hide the bit of melancholy in his voice. He smiled at Taenil, any tiredness from his day gone at seeing his friend.

“I was hoping to see you off before you go.. You’re going with them, aren’t you?”
