The other portrait of Stede I've done at the beginning of this year 🙏 love that dumbass.
This one needs to go right next to the Baltimore accent with the Aaron earns an iron urn.
In case anyone hasn't seen it
love how english started as a rhotic language and half the native speakers said, "oh, Fuck That Noise"
What I DEEPLY LOVE about the Baltimore one is how mad HE IS to realize what his own accent did to it. XD He's SO MAD. XD XD

Today is the 20th birthday (!) of my oldest extant fanfic! Originally posted to ff.net on May 19, 2004, which means that this fic is now older than many of my students. It's probably older than a few of my Tumblr followers. To mark this momentous occasion, I have decided to finally import it to AO3:
(I don't know what you might be expecting, but this is 1,400 words of Voldemort/Peter Pettigrew crackfic. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
I was 16 when I wrote this, and it was basically an inside joke between me and my best friend. (Who is, incidentally, still my dearest friend, 20 years later.) It wasn't my first fanfic, just the oldest one to maintain a continuous internet presence since I first posted it. A survivor of the Purge, if you will. (It wasn't much of a purge, tbh, but there were, IIRC, three older unfinished multi-chapter works that I deleted sometime after I started college. I rather regret doing that, now that I am older and have less shame.)

Can't wait for the new season!

........
Terry Pratchett's social commentary is impeccable as always. I love these lines. They're so simple yet so raw.
